I WILL NEVER RETURN To this location AFTER THIS INTERACTION my orders were not Cooked fully you could smell to RAW smell . I immediately called and explained to the young lady that I don’t live close to this Location to come back and return I was frustrated and they were near closing anyway. I explained I could-take a picture of the food in garbage with garbage on top ! The young lady no need and explained to another worker my frustration and they agreed that they would put my name down as a one time replacement and they would replace my order and I could pick it up... call 1st - On pick up day which was within that week I called Harold and story changed to no record of my name or issue . I ask to speak with the manager ”she was out getting Pop’s”, said worker ... and said call back again everything should be ok. Finally call back talk to Manager her name was D! ALSO everybody name was D !even when I asked for last name it was D! Finally call back to explain for like the 5th time the issue but now speaking with Manager D thinking that it was going to be a simple yes come pick up order . the Manager said no and that she would have to speak to the Owner “:WOW “ Me - this was just a 20.00 order and the food was not cooked I would like to keep coming to this location, I own my own business as well. I work in corporate service and sales and I have integrity and understand how people try to get over this is not the case . Manger D- yeah well ...... I have to still talk to Owner . I said I will do you one better than that ... Since this has become a debacle I will dispute the charge with my bank all I wanted was cooked food that I Paid for ... and Look for my review on Yelp! and she said “:Okay that’s fine in a laughing manner. To the owner this is how we fail , this is how you treat customers , if the manager you hired can’t make a sensible 20.00 decision to make a customer happy and take ownership.... you will forever have business struggles . So I hope that your Ok just like your manger thought it was okay ! with that said I leave you this review . 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 And my bank has already refunded my charge as I typed🙂🙂🙂 The worst part is I host weekly workshops with companies and its near your area as well .. HOWEVER I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE RUDENESS AND THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AS I DID TODAY BY THERE MANAGER WHO REFUSED TO GIVE ME HER NAME AND THEN REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE OWNERS NUMBER. I ordered my food over 1 hour ago and came in to pay. After I stood in line for about 10 min I asked when I got to register was my food ready because we has called in the food. The cashier said it will.be ready in less than 5 min. I proceeded to pay for my food then went outside to wait because it was extremely crowded inside. I came back in after waiting another 10 min to.inquire where my food was and the cashier said my.manager is going to come and talk to you because I don't think they dropped your food yet. I said are you kidding me she said she coming to talk to you...after another 6-8 min no manager and people still coming and going with there food I said can you go get the.manager she went back there and she still saying I can't come I will be up when I can this went on for another 6-8 min then the young man called my name and said my food was ready and they expected me to just be happy and leave. No I'm sorry for the delay, no.manager offering to compensate me for my time, no offer of coupon for next time no customer service at all. When the Manager finally came she explained all these things that happened and I said don't you think u should compensate me for inconvenience or even apologize she said I'm only 1 person and we don't do that here insaid ok may I have your name she said no I don't have to give u my name I said u said you are the manager right she said yes I said then why would you not want to provide me your name since you said you don't compensate for your mistakes here. She said because why do u need it I said because I want to make an complaint with the owner about your behavior. Then she refused to give me a number to call the owner directly or a time when the owner would be in. So this was my only recourse was to post this on Google about the horrible customer service at this establishment. I will also be leaving review on yelp on Facebook, Instagram and all over because it's not ok to treat people like that never at all. I don't have to patronize your business, so you should treat all your customer with respect. Read moreNot the first time going to this Harold’s Chicken. I was heading back from Dundee IL and was having my family over to swim after a long day in the sun. Decided I would treat them to Harold’s. I tried calling around 4:30pm and no answer. Kept calling for the next hour as we arrived home and were getting the pool ready. I probably called 10 times. Then I thought, maybe because it was Father’s Day, they weren’t open. I quickly looked at their Facebook and there was no indication they were closed today. I figured since they are bad at answering their phone on a normal day I would just drive there and chance them being closed.
I arrived at 5:45pm and walked in the door. As I am walking in, one of the workers is rushing to the door to click the open sign off. I proceed to wait my turn and when I get up to the counter to order, I give them a rather large order. 50 piece mixed bucket. They explain to me they won’t make it because they are closing in 10 mins. I kindly ask why they didn’t have that posted anywhere and why they wouldn’t answer their phone. They just turned around and walked back to what they were doing behind the counter.
Terrible customer service. Who turns away a paying customer who is placing a large order. It’s a shame when employees get paid to work but then complain or refuse work even during regular working hours.
I went to Deon’s BBQ instead. Talk about a total 360 in customer service. Upon walking in they informed me what they were out of. They also stated they were out of sauce. I started off by letting them know I have a rather large order. They never once seemed upset. They actually went next door to jewel and got sauce to make it right. Totally different experience between the two places.
Back to Harold’s. On a side note, their sign prohibiting firearms holds no force of law. Legally you may still carry there concealed. The worst that could happen is they see it and ask you to leave. Sad is the day when a business frowns upon citizens being able to...
