I would like to first start by saying, a 2.5 star is probably more appropriate. I have DEFINITELY experience much better, but it's certainly not inedible. I have heard plenty of hype surrounding this place and I have even heard people call this true authentic Mexican. That is certainly the farthest from the truth.
My wife and I checked out their newest location in Eagan and I was really in the mood for fish tacos. As we started to eat the chips and salsa (chips in stores are better and salsa that looked like Pace), we of course started to review the menu and drink some adult beverages.
Sadly, I didn't get my fish tacos! Why? Because 2 fish tacos for $13 compared to almost every other place that gives you 3 for much less made my decision easy. I have a feeling, I wouldn't have been pleased with them any ways. So instead, I ended up with their Carnitas Street Tacos which were fine, but nothing exciting. Not even exciting enough to add to my top tacos list (message me for that list).
My wife went for their Arroz con Mariscos - Grilled shrimp and scallops served over a bed of rice, covered in melted cheese and ranchero sauce. Served with guac, salad and tortillas. The shrimp were pretty cheap quality (lots of shrimp poop - more than usual) and the scallops were cheap as well and VERY fishy! I completely understand that quality seafood typically won't be found at places like this, but you'd be surprised... I did however dig the cheesy rice! My wife even made the comment that it wasn't as good as she has experienced elsewhere.
I think I'll stick to my favorite spots and let this place go for...
Read moreTerrible service. Drink was supposed to a Miami Vice and was salty. I told server he argued with me and told me it was not as he himself made it. I tested it again and still salty so I had my friend taste it. she told him there was salt on and in the drink. So he took it back and must have rinsed same glass sugared the rim and then blended it. It came out to the table pink in a warm glass amd a faint hint of salt. So was a blended Miami Vice and was watery by this time. Neither had much liquor as i had warned my friend getting large size as especially the signiture one was strong. I know this as I frequent the other Teresas (savage and Lakeville) all the time. Neither had a hint of alcohol in them. Hers also looked like a mic and not the hand made signature. We had already waited a while to even get someone to wait of us but were patient. By this time I was not patient and was not understanding why the waiter was basically so rude and did not understand customer service and how to manage a complaint. How are you going to tell me something is not salty?? SO I finally asked for the manager as others appeared to be helped promply. She could not guess my drink when i asked. I explained whst had happened from the time we sat down and how rude he was. She offered tonhave the bartender make me another drink. I asked if they had a bartender what is my waiter doing making my drink (maybe how the whole walt vs sugar issue happened And why they did not taste good). I had water as i was done at this point. I can only recommend Savage or Lakeville. Do...
Read moreIf possible, this would be less than 1 star. We had the worst service not only from the 2 different waiters we had but also from the manager. We sat for 15 minutes before the hostess told us our waiter was in a meeting. After that happened it was another 5 minutes until we waved down another waiter to bring us a drink. No question on what kind or size of margarita we wanted, nothing. A margarita was brought to the table not what I wanted. Had 1 sip and left it on the table. No one ever asked if there was an issue with the drink as it sat undrank throughout the entire meal. When the bill arrived and we asked to have the undrank margarita taken off there was the most pushback ever to remove the 8.00 drink. The manager took 10 minutes to get to the table to hear about the issue and pushed back again when we asked to have it removed. We complained about the lack of attentive service we had (we waited more time than it took it actually eat, and we were 1 of 4 parties in the restaurant) and the manager still pushed back on us to remove the drink. Finally after 5 minutes of arguing with the manager and saying we are not paying for the drink did he go get it removed which again to another 10 minutes to receive the updated check. Hands down the WORST service we have ever received from a restaurant/service/manager. We will NEVER...
