Cupbop has a promo on their site where if you sign up and spend $20 you save $10, so we chose here for dinner. We both got the same thing- combo bowl with two meats (ugly fried chicken and tangy fried chicken). I asked for no slaw because I despise it, but they still put it in both meals. Kinda irked me but I moved past it to at least give it a fair chance. The chicken was AMAZING. Perfectly fried and cooked fully with lots of unique flavor. That’s where my review basically ends because I detested the taste that came with the rest. I’m not too familiar with Korean cuisine so I tried to keep an open mind, but my pallet simply couldn’t deal with the odd sweet taste of the noodles (maybe it was the cabbage or rice or all of it?) I hated the flavor so much that I cringed every time I took a bite. It almost tasted like cinnamon/nutmeg- very hard to describe but not at all what I anticipated for noodles lol… I ended up giving my boyfriend the rest of my food after picking out the chicken which he didn’t mind because he thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say I have a VERY particular/picky thing with smells and tastes, so that’s why only one star was taken off (also bc the slaw). It was a LOT of food and filled us up, even me after just eating the chicken. The bowls look small in reviews but they for sure do the job. Oh, we paid for extra meat for each meal but it didn’t seem like they followed those instructions either. Next time I’d straight up order a bowl of just chicken with no extras.

This place was great! First time in a Cupbop, it came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. As any first, it was a bit nerve wracking. The staff was much more than understanding. Went step by step with explanations and suggestions. I got two combo bop, first one with rice, cabbage, noodles, mandoo (which is their take on a potsticker but oh, so wonderful) and ugly chicken with sweet sauce. Second had only the noodles, beef, and rock chicken with the spicy set at the recommended 7.5, although i did express my worry of it not being spicy enough, the man gave me a side of the 10. Suffice it to say, the food was phenomenal. The sweet was, well… sweet but in a good way. It paired well with the rice and cabbage as well as the proteins. The 7.5 was the perfect in between of spicy and flavorful. As an added bonus, the 10 was definitely spicy for someone with above average tolerance, but still had a great taste. To top it all off, since it was my first time, he added a couple Mandoo free of charge! At the register, he gave us samples of some four layer chips they would be getting in for retail. Sweet corn tasted very good with an accurate taste, Chocolate was a very rich and tasty chocolate, and the chile & lime was nostalgic to me, with good clean flavor. Man, i cannot believe i dragged my feet on this place for so long. From customer care, excellent prices to clean delectable food it’s a must try for any fan of the Korean BBQ scene.

When you walk into CupBop you are immediately greeted by upbeat and friendly workers. I had never been before but the staff did a great job of explaining the menu and let me know what they liked best. I had the bowl with ā€œugly chickenā€ (fried chicken) and spicy beef. I was a little nervous to get the spicy beef but the worker explained it was not very spicy at all and she was right. If you do like spice you get to choose your spice level so don’t be worried if you crave some heat! The food was amazing and received a large portion for its price. If you are wanting to play it safe if you haven’t had kbbq I would suggest getting the fried chicken but if you know you like kbbq skip it. It was tasty but the other meat is better and more authentic. I also got a potsticker (I think it has a different name on their menu but it is an equivalent). It was a nice little appetizer. I can’t stress enough how great the staff was. They have developed a really fun and helpful culture there. I can’t wait to go back.

It pains me to give this place a poor rating. I love the food and the staff is always amazing, and I go there sometimes more than once a week. But tonight I had the worst restaurant experience I ever had in my life.... at the Nampa location. At 8:00 pm I called to order take away, the guy on the phone was super friendly as always, I recognized his voice as one of my favorite and friendly staff members I regularly see there. I said, ā€œI will be picking it up at 8:45, is that ok or is that too late?ā€ He says, ā€œ oh thats fine, it will be ready for you when you get here.ā€ at 8:30 I roll out from my work, I had just finished a 12 hr shift from my own customer-service type job. Exactly 8:45 I get out of my car and start walking to the doors of Cup Bop. I see this chick behind the counter irritatedly putting her gloves on because she see’s I am walking into the restaurant. I am thinking, won’t she be happy to know I am here for takeout so this should be an easy quick thing and she gets to go home. I walk in and smiling say, ā€œHi I am here for pick up for Chloe.ā€ ā€œthere is no pickup.ā€ She says, curtly. ā€œI canceled it because we didnt have the food left.ā€ and then she walks over to a little computer screen and points at it. I say, ā€œoh, I called on the phone earlier?ā€ Cuz now I am confused because she is making it seem like I was notified by some sort of app or something because she keeps pointing this computer that has nothing to do with me and acting like I am so rude for not knowing it was canceled. ā€œNo I canceled it. It’s canceled.ā€ She says this with A LOT of attitude and keeps pointing at the screen like I should know it was canceled. I’m like, ā€œoh, well I made a phone call earlier...did someone try to call me?ā€ and I start looking for my phone thinking I missed a phone call from them. She’s like, ā€œ ā€˜Sorry’ I didn’t know I was supposed to call you!ā€ And she says this while rolling her eyes. Unable to believe the attitude I am getting I say, ā€œMa’am you need to calm down. You are like freaking out on me.ā€ she says, ā€œNo I’m not!ā€ I say, ā€œThen you are being really rude.ā€ And she deny’s it again. So I ask for her name, and with this snotty snide smile, looking down at me with her head turned up, she say’s ā€œ Ava.ā€ I tell her to have a nice night and then I leave. I am calling the manager tomorrow. But I cried the whole way home. I have never been treated with such disrespect. I have worked in customer service for years and I am always kind to people in the food and retail business. It’s hard work and customers can be brutal. But there is no excuse for that behavior....and I certainly...

Colby Ryan Coit, was thy name. As i walked into the campus, i was overcome with an abundance of amazing scents and flavors. I walked in with a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart, surly to be fulfilled with the comfort of Cupbop. I strolled to the counter, reviewing the menu with precision. My stomach was rumbling at this point, it seemed to be begging for the succulence of the warm, creamy noodles. I walked over to what seemed like my Knight in shining armor, Colby. He was wearing a Onzie that caught my eyes right away, for i knew that he was the right server for me. The other man, the one with a weird jawline, attempted to receive my order, as he must have been mesmerized by my appearance. But Colby, being the valuable employee as he is, stepped his aside, and with a manly, but soft and soothing voice, announced the words, "what can i get for you". I felt a tingling in my heart, as i have not been treated like this before. I believe i felt my mouth drool as i ordered the Deluxe meal, "Ugly Bop". As i waited whilst my food was being prepared by the softest of hands. I looked in thy interior and was shocked to see such a variety of designs that could flabbergast even the most brilliant of designers out there. When the food was done, it seemed to be prepared by the angles, the one again, with the weird Jawline attempted to speak to me. As i ignored his shrieking voice and echoed hollers i was just looking into Colby's eyes. With such Detail and focus he seemed to prepare the most perfect dish i could've asked for. As the steam came off the white succulent sauce, my jaw dropped as i could've started munching that shi imminently. I paid and left with a warmth in my heart. Thank you Colby. Colby, a man who has volunteered his time, to make men and women all around happy... And to the one with the dream jawline who was interfering with my order, please refrain from doing that...
