We moved from another state into Star about a year ago. There were no WinCos where we previously lived. In Star, there is a Ridley's and an Albertsons. Albertsons is more convenient. Eventually, one of our new friends mentioned WinCo. So, we started going there.
As in the other reviews, the first thing I found out was that it's either cash or debit card, no credit. Not a problem as I carry my debit card in my wallet, and have no added it to my Apple Wallet. Also, even if you go through the full checkout line, you have to bag your own groceries. This is no problem at all for us because, for the most part, we go through self-checkout lines whenever we can.
Prices are the best compared to Albertsons (we don't grocery shop at Wal-Mart or Target). We do shop at Costco for some bulk items and toiletries, but the nice thing about WinCo is that you don't have to buy in bulk. WinCo does seem to have good produce, and I love the selection of whole coffee beans, since I do like to grind my own. I also buy bulk instant Gluten free oats to make oatmeal. We try to buy as many of our groceries as we can at WinCo, but since it's a 15-20 minute drive from Star, if we're feeling lazy, we just go to Albertsons. We retired so we have the time. I'm happy to have this nice WinCo so...
Read moreThe stock is fantastic and they have products a lot of stores do not! For that, I love Winco! I like that they don’t have a low supply of what I’m looking for and the impulse buys are great! The customer service isn’t the best. The individual who was checking me out, she wasn’t that great at her job, had to do a lot of back and forth to bag my stuff because she didn’t move the belt. And she waited to ask for a price check when she was done ringing up 400 worth of groceries when she could have asked for the price before we were done. She asked for the price check as I’m checking out and moved on to the next person. That’s pretty unintelligent, but I just left those things behind and left. I did notice great prices on strawberries that had science projects growing on them, but if you dig enough you can find good ones. Otherwise, decent grocery store. I’d probably find another one before I head back to...

12/2021 This is a great store...however out of control teenagers roam the store on Friday and Saturday nights causing intentional chaos. From races with handicapped carts, and using the excuse that he was hurt in Afghanistan, "to groups running wild thru the store, groups purchasing the 6 count packages of eggs, and not allowing customers to access checkouts. Employees seem to be rather nonchalant. In that if there is a problem call the store and ask for a manager. Police have been called several times and their attitude is "they're just teenager's ." Usually when the teens notice police have been called the run for their cars. One time it was a...
