A Must-Stop Spot Between Vail and Glenwood Springs! Every time we ski at Vail and head to Glenwood Hot Springs, stopping at Gourmet China in Eagle has become our favorite tradition. The food here is consistently excellent, and the flavors are always spot on! On our most recent visit, we enjoyed the Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce and Peking Beef—both absolutely delicious. The pork was tender and packed with rich, garlicky umami goodness, perfectly balanced with fresh vegetables. The Peking Shredded Beef was crispy, savory, and beautifully complemented by the fresh scallions on top. Each dish came with fluffy white rice, a crispy spring roll, and a sweet-and-sour dipping sauce, making for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. Beyond the fantastic food, the service is friendly, and the portions are generous. Whether you’re coming off the slopes or winding down from a day at the hot springs, Gourmet China is the perfect place to refuel with comforting, flavorful Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend! 5/5 stars—this place never disappoints!

Update May 2023- Never disappoints! Still the best Orange Beef ever! Also ordered the cashew chicken, which was excellent, but that Orange Peel Beef is just crazy craveable!!! We will always stop here when on our way through town. We're always sad when they are closed. Best Orange Beef ever! Happened upon this restaurant while traveling through on a road trip and stayed in Eagle overnight. Dinner was fantastic! I don't know what they put in the Orange Beef, but it was the best Chinese food we've ever had, and we live where there are lots of good restaurants. The waitress was also very nice and very appreciative of our compliments. It was so good, that we tried to stop and eat again 3 different times, on trips a few weeks later, but they were closed the last 3 times we tried. Call for hours, and order the Orange Beef. I still crave it!

The customer service in this place is horrible. I walked in to pick up my food the guy behind the register was on his cell phone talking for 6-7 minutes. I had to patiently wait for him to complete his conversation in order for him to proceed with my transaction .He did not greet me. The food was disgusting. The fried rice is basically white rice and a dab of Soy sauce Disgusting I had the orange peeled beef, a waste of $33.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I went there with my husband and my 2 small children. We ordered our drinks. 2 cokes and 2 children sprites. We were brought our drinks and the kids’ drinks were in the same size glass cups, but filled barely halfway.... ok not a big deal. Then we ordered our food. Teriyaki chicken, general taos chicken, white rice and lo mein. Our food arrived all at different times and the teriyaki chicken was last. I immediately looked at it and was grossed out by the way it looked, but thought maybe that looks can be deceiving and I gave it a bite. Yuck! It was chewy and all fat and very very tangy like it was soaked in vinegar. So I politely said to the waiter “I’m sorry, but this wasn’t what I was expecting and is he here anyway I may swap it out for something else, like another plate of general taos?” (Because I had tried my husbands and it was good) he said “no you order you pay” I immediately said fine bring me some boxes and the check I’m leaving and you’ve lost business from us from here on out! Packed our other food in boxes and looked at the check. It was $68 and some change. We were charged $3.00 for all 4 drinks even though we received 2 half full drinks, and then there was an 18% service charge. Basically he put his tip on the check and that was almost $11. HAHA. I’ve worked in the food industry most of my life and if a customer isn’t satisfied with something you do everything in your power to make it better. He didn’t do anything. He didn’t deserve a penny of a tip. He was lucky I actually paid the bill, and didn’t just walk out. I paid $58 and left. He was not getting a service charge out of me because he didn’t do me a service. I live in this town and will travel for better Chinese food and better service. Gypsum has a great...

I often get take-out food here, but last night we were a party of 5 and sat down. Dinner was fine, service a little slow. But then we got our bill. We gave our credit cards, and were filling out the receipt with a tip when one of us noticed it seemed high. So we did the math. There was an additional $10.55 added after tax, and then the credit card receipt was another couple dollars higher than the total on the bill. One of us asked and didn't get a straight answer from the server, so I went to the front and asked the manager/owner about these charges. He pointed to the menu, where the fine print said parties of 4 would have an auto-gratuity of 15% added to the bill. OK, this is a bit unusual for parties smaller than 6, but I can accept that. Two problems however... First, they didn't mention it on the bill as auto-gratuity. It was a completely unlabeled $10.55. Second, $10.55 was not 15% of our total, it was 18%! That is f-ing wrong. And the owner seemed to be OK with it. Also the credit card receipt was a little high because he pointed to a sign that said "There is a 4% cash discount". Excuse me, but added 4% to the menu prices for using a credit card is different than giving cash customers a discount. He came to the table a minute later to give us a dollar and change for the 3% tip disparity, but he showed no remorse or apology, it was clearly intentional. Avoid this place if you don't want...

Last night on 10-12-2025, my two friends and I went to eat here. I’ve ate here before and haven’t had a problem, but this time was different. I had a Shirley Temple and when I finished I asked if I could have another one. The waitress who’s a bit older and smaller said no refills, so I asked for a different drink and she said no I’m not sure I’ll go ask. She brought out a different drink in the same exact cup, no added ice, nothing. Same Shirley temple residue in my cup as before. I was eating my shrimp dish and there was a piece of what I presumed to be metal in my food. There were small pieces left in another piece and my friend waved the man over. He said they were pieces of stainless steel from when they wash dishes and that it got into my food. He asked me what I wanted him to do, and I asked for another dish. At the end, they didn’t comp my meal although this was an error on their end and I could’ve potentially hurt my mouth really badly due to their incompetence. I will not be going back and I recommend everyone eats slowly and pays attention to what is in their food. The customer service was beyond poor and their was no indication that they felt remorse for a piece of stainless steel...
