Mauka Poke Bar — Restaurant in Eagle

This place makes me wish I still lived in Eagle. I wish I could have shared a photo but my hunger got the best of me and I ate most of my bowl before giving a photo a second thought. The owners of this place were welcoming, friendly and very hospitable while the ingredients left nothing to be desired. Unfortunately we came late in the evening and they were sold out of their salmon and yellowtail so I opted for the tuna. It was bright and super fresh with the perfect amount of spice. I ordered the large portion (3 scoops of fish) which comes with 4 scoops of rice; but instead of all the rice, they happily invited me to have a scoop of rice and substitute mixed greens for the base. GENIUS. I tried all of the toppings (literally, ALL of them) and everything was so fresh, flavorful and expertly prepped. I initially thought a place like this, in Eagle, would cost a fortune for a tiny bowl and I'd end up leaving hungry. I could not have been more wrong! Major bang for the buck here my friends. You get A LOT of food for the price! And better yet, it is bright, fresh and healthy! They have a variety of beers, sakes and wines to pair with your bowls as well in case you're feelin froggy. My son and I stopped in for some poke. I noticed a sign that advertised sweet/spicy salmon tacos. The young lady behind the counter said she made the ones in the advertisement and asked if I wanted everything on them. I said yes, but would she recommend anything different. She said she liked the carrots better than the daikon, so of course I said yes to that. The tacos were AWESOME!! My son’s poke bowl was super good as well. Best poke bowl I've ever had! We stopped here on our way out to see Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in Utah. I got the Hawaiian Style Ahi Tuna with sriracha aioli and it was delicious. Mauka offers an immense amount of toppings and excellent service. The poke was so good that we decided to stop by on our way back from Utah.
