McDonald's — Restaurant in East Alton

I have to give this place 5 stars. Here's why: We were visiting Illinois, and on our way home we started having van issues. We stopped into mcds to grab food and try to figure out where to go and what to do with our van. When we were done eating, we hopped back in the van to leave, and it wouldn't start. My wife, myself, and our 6 kids were then stranded, in a strange town, not knowing anyone, and 700 miles away from anyone we knew that could help us. Our kids got restless, dug out their skates and skateboards in attempt to kill boredom and energy. This upset the employees, reasonable, but unfortunately they are kids loaded with kid energy. They weren't being destructive or disrespectful. We were forced to sleep in our van overnight after a roadside technician failed to get our van running. First thing Monday morning, my wife and I were making phone calls trying to get our van towed home and a rental that would fit the 8 of us. We didn't want to hang out at a mcds for 24 hours, but it happened. We likely spent $100 in food, if not more. They kept the lobby, bathroom, and lot spotlessly clean. Honestly, this is one of if not THE BEST mcds we've ever been to, and I want to thank the staff for their patience. They never once asked what happened, just came by to tell us no sleeping at the tables (again, kids.) I went in to the East Alton location today wondering if I could use my virtual card and have them manually enter it in since I don't have my physical copy of my debit card and wanted to get my five year old daughter some dinner, but they couldn't do that. The young gentleman at the front counter who helped me showed me unrelenting kindness. After asking the manager on shift, and being told they were no longer allowed to enter card info in manually, this astounding young person asked me what she wanted, and I said nevermind it's alright, and started to walk away and he says "no, ma'am what do you want?" and said he wanted to pay for my daughters dinner so what was it she wanted. Thank you! You were the third place that denied me being able to use my card, I must have looked pretty disappointed. And for whatever reason, you paid for her dinner tonight. While $6 may not seem like a lot, it meant a lot to me. Times are tough out here and you have restored my faith in humanity once more. So...

This McDonald’s is pathetic they took Sausage Mc griddle’s Off sale and put on sausage Mc griddle‘s with eggs and cheese so I went up there and ordered a sausage Mc griddle minus the egg and cheese they told me the computer won’t let them do it so I went to another McDonald’s and ask them for the same thing it was just fine went back to that same McDonald’s the next day and asked on my McDonald’s app there was buy one sandwich get one for a dollar They told me I couldn’t do that with the Mc griddle so I went and did it at the other McDonald’s went back To that McDonald’s a week later Asked for the 2 for 4$ McGriddle without eggs and cheese it went on the screen fine but when I got up to the window the cashier told me her manager will not sell it to me that way when I told them I had no problem doing it at the other McDonald’s down the road they told me they were a different franchise and this one won’t allow it .I have used this McDonald’s since it opened I will never...
