Peoples Choice — Restaurant in East Hartford

As a former employee I can tell you that this restaurant is disgusting I've seen the way they make the sauce they mix it in a big garbage barrel with bare hands up above their elbows half of the people don't wash their hands men tend to have hairier arms and they're sticking their entire bare arm in the sauce I've seen people wipe their nose on their sleeves while making food I've seen people sneeze and cough and gag while making food they do not wear gloves most of the time the only time they do is when a customer is standing at the front counter watch I've seen roaches I've seen mice I've seen my strappings the reason I no longer work there is because a manager ask me a question I answered her and she became exceedingly hostile and violent with me to the point where I had to call the owner who proceeded to scream at me on the phone I hung up on her went to the police station and reported the incident days later I went to retrieve my check and was immediately cussed at and the owner decided to side with the manager who physically threatened me the behavior among these people is ridiculous the level of professionalism and customer service is below zero it's an unhealthy unfriendly rude violent hostile environment as well as there's a lot of drugs going through there I have seen people roll blunts on the counter I have seen people smoke in the back I've even seen said manager who screamed at me have sex in the walk-in cooler and the owner just ignores it oh that never happened they have cameras everything was caught on camera and to no avail no matter how much I complained I was just simply ignored I was there for three and a half years these people simply cannot get their act together as far as the food goes it may be tasty but I'm telling you you really don't know what you're eating if I could give this place less than 1 * I would I wish somebody would report them again to the health department the Better Business Bureau whoever else because these people seriously need to be shut down the East Hartford store is simply an abomination and the list of problems and things that I have seen goes on and on and on you really don't know what you're putting in your mouth and I highly...

If I could give negative Stars I would first of all they are very very very rude! Second of all they come to deliver my food which was paid for over the phone by credit card and try to charge me again and told me that I didn't pay when I gave the number over the phone. Then they leave and I open up my food and I ordered a steak and cheese grinder and order french fries the steak and cheese was burnt to a crisp! The cheese was black it didn't even look like a grinder I wish I could post a picture then when I called back to complain the man was very very rude to me and told me also to make sure that I gave back the other food which I'm guessing they are going to give it to someone else which is absolutely disgusting! Because as far as I know you're not allowed to ask for the food back once it's given to the customer. When will the driver came to bring me back my second sandwich he proceeded to try to give me a third receipt and have me sign it which I refused because they were trying to charge me 3 times for one grinder that they couldn't even get right!! • Edited Review* — I wanna start off by saying the BEST part of tonight’s experience was my driver she’s awesome so this edit in no way should be viewed towards her!! So I normally enjoy the food from here but tonight was a DISASTER 😩 My fries were so burnt they were black (why you would even send food out that looked like that is beyond me) my wrap was not good I threw most of it away, the grinder was mediocre at best but at least my husband liked his pizza so hey one of us ate dinner 🙄 Won’t be ordering again for awhile! When I do I’ll stick to the pizza 🤷‍♀️
