Vinson Kitchen — Restaurant in East Hartford

I don't know how in the world this place has 4.5 stars. I always do a test run with a simple but yet quintessential menu item...chicken fingers. I was in the area fueling up and had seen the restaurant for years but always went to others based on where I live and being content. I went in on a weekday afternoon around 2PM. Not busy at all. The dining room, if that's what you call it had dirty, food covered tables. The food was made quickly and I went out to my vehicle to eat. I took one bite and spit it out and immediately thew it away. The first thing I noticed was that the chicken fingers were the GREASIEST things I had ever seen. I placed one on a couple napkins and without even pressing down on it, the grease soaked through two napkins and made a grease stain the size of a quarter on my arm rest. Freaking disgusting! What's worse? Even with all of that grease there was barely any flavor. And to cap it off, I broke one open to find the tiniest strip of chicken that measured no more than 1/4" in width and about 1/2" long surrounded by 1" of greasy, mushy batter. There are far better options in the area to spend your hard earned dollar. I feel for those folks who don't have options for whatever reason. I would not be surprise to see this place go under any day now. How the heck can you stay in business with food this bad??
