Rosa's Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in East Hartford

I've often had issues with the bakery staff where I choose, "Contact me" if an item's not available via DoorDash delivery to discuss acceptable substitutions, if any.

Rosa's Bakery often selects baked items I don't like without calling me as I write in the delivery instructions. I need to be consulted whether I would like, say, a blueberry Danish pastry instead of the lemon Danish pastry I actually ordered., etc., if they ran out. I recently called to make sure no substitutions were made. I was told that a strawberry item had been substituted for my Lemon Danish. I asked the woman to take it out of the box. Well, the strawberry Danish indeed was taken out, yet she forgot to credit my DoorDash account for the unwanted substitution. When I called to complain & asked to speak with the owner, I was told she wasn't available. The unhelpful female supervisor I spoke with told me it was "my responsibility" to call DoorDash to get credit for the strawberry Danish I didn't even want or like to begin with. Frustrating experience !

I usually like their baked items but I don't like all of the flavors they offer. I don't appreciate their staff taking such liberties to substitute whatever is most convenient when they run out of certain items.

When I go to a restaurant, if I order, for example, ribeye steak, the waiter doesn't just hand me cubed steak simply because "they ran out of" ribeye.

I recently ordered the "Rosa's Special" breakfast delivery which came with runny scrambled eggs that were obviously undercooked. That's gross. The home fries were hard, not fully cooked.

I'll give this bakery another try since I hadn't had issues with its breakfast...

I came across this bakery while scrolling online, which is crazy because I drive by to drop of my child at the middle school and hadn't realized they were there . I want to support Small businesses , especially women owned and my fellow latinas ! So, I decided to stop by today . The aesthetic is super cute from the exterior set up to the interior . Very homey , cozy vibes . Everyone that greeted me was so genuine , so nice . Felt very welcome! Let me tell you , the pastries immediately caught me eye ! Everything looked so good !!! I tried their cheese danish- so good ! Not too sweet and the right amount of crunch and flake. I will be coming back for many more danishes and to try some...

I was so excited to finally stop by this restaurant as I have ordered on the door dash before and was really impressed with the food. I went in and stood in line for well over 20 minutes as the attendees helped multiple people who came in after me and never said one word to me. I have never felt so unwanted in an establishment before. I walked out and will never walk back in again. Maybe I was too dark to be noticed. SMH I will drive myself all the way to Isaac's in Bloomfield with no problem as they have better customer service and I live a minute away...
