Absolutely fantastic! It's definitely worth a visit. Very extensive menu with LOTS of options as well as rotating specials. My server was very sweet and attentive. The only reason I could not give her a 5 star or compliment her by name was the fact that she never did introduce herself. Other than that, she was fabulous. I went off my comfort route of trying a burger to establish where a place stands to try one of the specials. I chose the Columbia Chicken entrée. Just an FYI, there IS a sandwich on their menu that goes by the same name, but this was a dinner. It came with a soup or salad as well as two vegetables. I chose a soup of the day, lobster bisque, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cucumber salad along with an unsweetened tea. The food was brought out very quickly and was hot and tasty. The lobster bisque was creamy, hot, and had just enough spice to it. The cucumber salad was very cold and tasty. The iced tea was sweet and delicious. Now for the entrée. The Columbia Chicken was absolutely magnificent, and I'm so glad that I chose to go down that road. It is grilled chicken breast smothered in lump crabmeat and topped off with broccoli and hollandaise sauce. The only reason I didn't give it a five-star was that I felt that the hollandaise sauce was missing something. Maybe it was just me, but I thought it could have had a little more bite to it. The dish was steaming hot and quite delicious. I was WAY too stuffed to try any desserts, but they seemed to have a substantial selection. The portions are very sizable, and the price was reasonable for...

I worked the 1100pm to 700am shift and I was starved. Where can I get something delicious to eat? I know! The Columbia Diner. Conveniently located near Lancaster and especially the western suburbs.

This restaurant has an extensive menu for breakfast and a separate larger menu for lunch and dinner. They always have several specials.

I decided upon Chopped Steak, grilled to perfection served along with shredded potatoes and fluffy scrambled eggs. I declined the bread as I'm trying to watch carbs. I also ordered a side of scrapple, extra dark with horseradish on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious.

I got a new cell phone last week and I'm too dumb to figure out how to take pictures; thus, no pictures for this report. I'll practice and have photos next time.

I was finished eating and sat for a little bit reading the Sunday newspaper. Being the klutz that I am, I knocked over my unsweetened iced tea (which was excellent, BTW). My server could have not been any nicer about cleaning up my mess. God bless her!

So, if you are in the Lancaster area, and you're hungry, make The Columbia Diner your destination. You won't...

Came here for breakfast. I’ve been here before and food is always been ok! Today our food was ice cold, sausages were over cooked so we asked the tall waiter. If we could please have fresh hot breakfast he took it back, reheated it brought it out again. Hashbrowns were like mush because they added water to them, and just chopped them all to nothing in the microwave so we ask him to come back over again and said we would like fresh, not reheated food. now the owner comes out gets in our face very loudly says nothing is wrong with his food on a Sunday and how dare we complain and never to come back he was the rudest person ever for being an owner of an establishment. We were never offered more coffee either after the owner got irate! They just threw the check on our table. That is not how you treat a customer we were not loud or out of control, but he certainly was. beside the food being awful we will never return because of how the owner of the establishment was. There was no cause for that and for a $34 bill. Didn’t want to give any stars but made me pick at least one star...

Our family came for breakfast and the food was awesome!!! We were seated right away. The staff are very nice and it has a pleasant atmosphere. I ordered the steak with home fries and eggs and my food was cooked EXACTLY the way I wanted it. The steak had a nice light sear and it was cooked perfectly. It was very juicy and tender. The home fries were crispy and the eggs were fluffy, not microwaved or rubbery tasting. My daughter had the 222 and the pancakes were huge and fluffy. My husband had the garden omelet, yummm, with bacon and the bacon was chewy and not burnt!! We will definitely be going back!! My only problem with this visit is......when I asked for steak sauce she gave me a bottle of A1.....but that was NOT A1 inside, a little disappointing, but the food was great!!

Going in on an early Tuesday morning is the way to go. Prompt service. Very quiet. Food MTO, not rushed. One on one with your server. Food made quickly. I know many diners usually get SLAMMED with negative reviews because of poor service or bad food; however, to fully experience a diner in all it's glory. Show up on an off day, early in the A.M. to avoid the crowds.
