I've been to Sonic Drive-In restaurants numerous times throughout the years, including this location a couple years ago. It is a fast food establishment with affordable price points, so I do not expect fine dining experience, however in the past the service and food were good and on point with expectations. Yesterday however was a horrible experience. It took three or four bell pushes (about a minute apart) before someone answered. If it were overwhelmingly busy or even busy at all, I could excuse the extended wait time, but that was not the case. When the girl answered, she had a generally bad attitude, and you could tell she had no interest at being at work. After repeating myself several times she finally got the order. Then came the wait time for the food, it must have taken at least 20 minutes, maybe even close to a half hour. Again, if it was busy I could make excuses, but it wasn't. During the wait, I used the bathrooms which were in retched shape. Luckily, I am a man and only had to urinate so it wasn't that uncomfortable but for ladies, I could only imagine the horrors. Finally, when the food came, the lids were barely sealed, there were no napkins in the bags, no condiments were included, no plastic silverware, and food was spilled all over the bottom of the bag. And after I talked up how fanatic their tots were to my girlfriend, we got fries (when placing the order the girl even repeated back tots when confirming the order). Then the fried food wasn’t dropped long enough, for instance the cheese in the Chedder Preppers was still gelled and cold, the fries were just barely dropped long enough, Buffalo sauce on the Boneless wings was … rancid. The corn dog was satisfactory, and my girlfriend enjoyed her Chili-Cheese foot-long. I worked fast food when I was younger, so usually I am forgiving when it comes to minor infractions, but this experience was just horrible, and the staff had absolutely no pride in their job. I know fast food service usually a starter job, but not sure where these people will be a couple years from now... At that the infrastructure of the building is falling apart, at very least it needs a paint job. Not sure if the owner of this franchise even gives a damn. Maybe I’ll visit another Sonic location (just not this one!) again to see if the problem is with this franchise itself, or the whole corporate establishment is failing. Read moreYesterday was the second incident my family got sick. Previously my Mom who we do full care of got sick on a number 1 burger and onion ring meal. She had diarrhea along with bad stomach cramping. Multiple rounds of diarrhea. Yesterday October 22, 2023 my wife and I stopped to try Sonic again and ate on site as we kept my Mom’s meal aside. We first noticed the taste seemed off. We both ate about half and agreed something was wrong. I started having stomach cramps driving home. By the time we got home both of us ran to the bathroom sick. Both of us had multiple incidents of diarrhea and cramping . It is now 10:50 the next day and I’m still cramping with diarrhea. We were able to get the burger from my Mom before she ate it but she did have a few onion rings and she also had multiple rounds of diarrhea at almost 80 years old. The burgers and onion rings tasted off. We think there was bacteria in either the burgers or onion rings. Perhaps the oil was old and had bacteria. Previous to this we were big Sonic fans and regular customers. We also always tipped well. This Lancaster location needs a deep inspection. My mom is full care in a hospital bed. It was difficult to be so sick our selves and have to do her care due to lunches we thought we would enjoy. We are very disappointed! That’s 4 meals we got sick on. 1 previously with my mom and 3 yesterday. These combo meals are not cheap. It’s a treat to eat out being I’m medically out of work myself as a law enforcement officer and my wife is disabled along with my Mon’s care. Management please do the right thing in this situation and correct these issues. Also we had 4 meals between 2 visits that were bad so a reimbursement of these meals would be appreciated. Read moreI made an order online and it said my food would be done by 6:20. I get here 6:20 and my food doesn’t come out until 6:40 so I just sat and waited for 20 minutes after being told multiple times my food would be out in a minute. Finally it gets here and they told me the one milkshake I ordered was out of stock but we could choose something else to replace it with. We tell them our alternative option and they go to make it. I then checked my bag and realized they also didn’t give me one of the sandwiches I ordered. We hit the button and told someone over the speaker that they didn’t give us one of our sandwiches and they said someone would be out in a second. The guy gets here and tells us that they are also out of that type of burger completely and that we can choose something to replace it with. They were going to let us leave after paying almost $30 without one of our sandwiches, it’s a good thing I checked the bag. We got to Sonic at 6:20 and didn’t leave until 6:50 with 2 items that we didn’t even order because they were sold out and didn’t take it off their online ordering system and I almost didn’t even get both of them.
