Friendly's — Restaurant in East Longmeadow

There’s no confusion as to why Friendly’s is having trouble as a business. Look no further than my experience just now at the North Main Street in East Longmeadow. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated and the guy that seated us barely spoke to us. We sit down at a freshly washed table that still hadn’t dried by the time we left with empty bellies. It almost looked like there was spilled milk or ice cream still on the table. Many tables around us were covered in dishes from parties that had left already and the rags and spray for cleaning them were left behind. After waiting another 10 minutes from being seated without anyone even looking at us or walking by, we left. I counted 7 different employees looking like they had no idea what to do and standing around or walking around. The manager did walk by at one point when we were about to be seated and I overheard her on the phone talking about the temperature of the cooler not being within appropriate range. All the employees looked like they were suffering heat exhaustion and half of them looked like they hadn’t showered today. The building itself was just about as hot as the outdoors. In all fairness it’s 100 degrees today but that only covers a little of the problems I described here. I have given Friendly’ s about 5 chances in the last 2 years and each time I am reminded of why I don’t go here to eat. What more do I need to say.... oh yes when I went to call and make this comment to a person on the phone after leaving the store hungry, the phone number provided on the website is not the correct one to make complaints. I went to pick up my mother in Longmeadow and drive me & her to Fridays in East Longmeadow, the hours they had posted was till 11pm ( Saturday night) I was in the door at 9.30. I waited in line for about 8 to 10 min while 2 employees helped 1 customer on the register the whole time, when finally someone came out of the back room to tell me they were now closed for dine in, and I could only order to go ( after making me wait in line all that time) So I basically wasted 1 hour of my time picking up and then dropping my mom back home with no food because they did not honor there own hours of operation. And if I had known this upfront I would have chosen another place to go out to eat. But by time I left Fridays it was pretty much to late to drive to another place at this point as moste places do close at 10pm and by time I was done wating in line and leaving it was like 9.40. When I left this friend's located in East Longmeadow Ma, I right away called another friendlys located in Enifeld CT, but was told that there dine in was also now closed? So I do not know what I going on with Fridays right now. But they should update there hours of operation, if they want to close early that is fine, but I checked the hours before I got ready to leave my home to pick up my mother and of there hours were correct on line then I would have just chosen another restraunt, but because of this I got nothing and has to drop my mother back home and go home myself with no dinner that night which has...

Place is a dumpster fire. No one is actually running this place, despite the long term “manager”. You will be sure to be ignored from the time you walk in the door. 4PM not a single customer in the building besides us 2… seated. Only server doing something on a computer. Person who sat us is also the cook. Manager on the phone walking around the restaurant complaining loudly about some 3 deliveries she got. Not one person acknowledged us. Not enough staff but the cook was able to help all the door dash and to go orders. The sad thing is, this store will be closing soon. It’s only a matter of time. Empty parking lot, always looks closed and for YEARS now- deal with the same issue we did today. This store in particular has the ability to be a profitable store but it is run so incredibly poorly by people who don’t care. I will end this with the fact that the cook and manager laughed when they saw us leaving today. No “I’m so sorry, we will be right with you” no apology, no “there’s a little wait but we will be right there”. Just simply annoyance that we were there to begin with.
