CHALIO MEXICAN RESTAURANT — Restaurant in East Los Angeles

I checked in with the cashier to be placed on the wait list and was told there was no wait list so I stood there waiting to be seated. A waitress then calls someone who arrived after me and I asked again. There was a wait list and I wasn't added but the person who was called to be seated allowed us to go ahead of her. The menus are handed to us and all the prices are blacked out which I didn't question because I figured the food must be worth it. The waitress said the molcajete is enough for 2 people but it is not. It is so small and they only served 1 plate of rice and beans for 2 people to share for $30. We also ordered red enchiladas for $20 and the sauce was disgusting, tasted like canned sauce. The waitress was in a rush, slammed our plates of food on the table and never came back to check on us. We also ordered 2 micheladas which btw cost $10 each.

The prices have gone up a lot and the quality of the food has sadly gone done. No one in my family cared for the food, I myself took a couple of bites and that was enough for me the beef tasted as if it was bad . I do not like to complain but aside from the food not being good the fact that my grand daughter does not eat condiments and we clearly asked for a plain cheeseburger so when the cheeseburger with everything in it came out we had to tell them it was suppose to be plain the waitress looked irritated and took it back and when she brought “another” cheeseburger back it was pretty upsetting to see they scraped everything off n gave it back it was the same exact cheeseburger we figured that out after we seen my grand daughter would not eat it after taking a bite .
