Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5
It has been far too long since I have tasted a pupusa this good. From the moment I walked in, the service and atmosphere at Los Molcajetes stood out as something truly special. The group I was with arrived just 15 minutes before closing and instead of turning us away, the lady who helped us welcomed us with genuine kindness and went out of her way to find us a table. That small act of hospitality spoke volumes and immediately was a bonus in my bok
Let's talk pupusas. Absolutely phenomenal. The revueltas and plain cheese were awesome and just like I liked them; they were not overly greasy, yet every bite was packed with rich, authentic flavor. Their size might seem small but these pupusas are bursting with so much flavor and comfort that I found myself craving more the moment I finished.
Growing up in Highland Park, I have eaten pupusas from Las Cazuelas and have always enjoyed them. Los Molcajetes has raised the bar, in my opinion. All in all, these pupusas are not just good, they are unforgettable and they remind me why I love coming back to authentic...
Read moreDespite reading all the negative reviews about customer service I decided to give them a try. Yes, customer service truly sucks. There’s a sign that says wait to be seated so I stood there for a while without being acknowledged. Finally after being seated and given a menu, I waited for 15 minutes before I spoke up and asked if someone would take my order. My order did get served on time but I asked for a sample of their atol de elote. The waitress told me they don’t give sample. After finishing my food I go to the cash register to pay and asked the cashier “Is there a reason why you wouldn’t give a client a sample of a drink?” He said “the cook doesn’t allow it.” Btw no one came to check how I was doing or if I needed anything else. The food was simply ok and so not worth the frustration. The overall experience is very important and this place is not worth it. Don’t...
Read moreThe restaurant only offers pick up orders at this moment. The pupusas are good. I always order platanos con frijoles y crema and this is the last time I will purchase them. When I got home I tried them and they tasted old and dry like if they had been just reheated. I have been a loyal customer for many years. So went back to the restaurant and told them the platanos did not taste fresh. I felt they stole $9. The cashier did not offer a refund or to replace them. I had to request to at least be refunded for the platanos and she was hesitant about it. Very bad customer service. If you are ordering platanos check them before you leave to make sure they are freshly cooked and avoid this trouble. They get one star due to how they handle this situation and the quality of the platanos dish. FYI they now charge for salsa...
