SushiEn — Restaurant in East Los Angeles

The only thing I can say about this place is idk how they have an A for inspection...I worked here for a bit ...they violate so many health and safety laws...the first day I was there I was sweeping the kitchen and wanted to sweep the back of the grill because it was filthy like it had not been sweeped in months and one of the cook told me don't we will sweep on Saturday..it was Monday...the kitchen is filthy cross contamination for sure when u walk in look at the floor...then moving on to cooking they don't clean the fridges and sometimes there was mold on the bell sprouts and other ingredients the chicken gets cooked for 2.5 mins each side but the chicken sometimes is bloody still when u order they put it back on the grill for a bit to finish cooking but the chicken was still bloody when I told the cook about it he said " u don't want to overcook the chicken because they will return it , u want it nice and juicy..." Then when they close at 9pm at night nothing gets thrown out the left over chicken goes back into the walk in fridge the rice stays in the warmer....then 14 hrs later when they open up they old chicken gets put back in the warmer table and all the rice gets microwaved to be served they have a piece of fishing line they use to cut up the eggs for the soups the string looks like it has been there for years never been cleaned....idk how they haven't...

Clean and orderly. Nice newer dining area. Food was overpriced! I ordered two items and a drink and it was a whopping $21.00, YIKES! Yes, you heard me right, over $21.00. I can do lunch or dinner for two days at that price.

They do take a while to make the orders, but the server brings you the food and places it on your table.

There is pretty substantial menu and what appeared to be combination items where you get several sample items for one price. I looked at a couple combination plates but the portions looked rather puny.

Unfortunately, the California rolls weren't overly flavorful and the other asian food item was rather bland and slightly overcooked.

This place was recommended by a co worker. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it do to the slower than usual service, somewhat smaller than normal portions and much higher than...

Received a flyer and wife decided to go check this place out. It is near the East L.A. courthouse and the clinic of colors.

Kids, wife, and I decided to go a little after lunch time on a Friday. Wife and girls got a beef teriyaki bento box, my son decided to go with a dragon roll, and I got the chicken teriyaki bento box.

We shared a California roll and enjoyed the food. The dragon roll came out last since the eel was baked/cooked. We waited for about seven minutes to have our order taken, which was enough since the girls couldn't decide.

The bento boxes came out first(and quick if I may add). The dragon roll and California roll came out afterward. Overall we enjoyed the environment, the food, and the attention from the young lady behind the counter.
