OUR BREAKFAST MATCHED THE ENTHUSIASM FOR OUR DINING EXPERIENCE AT MELA'S CAFE

Great breakfast menu. The restaurant was bright, modern and full of diners who displayed the many items from the menu which looked very tempting. The staff greeted us as soon as we entered, and asked for our seating preference. Our table was spotless and prepared with a full assortment of condiments. Our waitress answered our questions about the menu and took our order promptly. The creamy mushroom toast was imaginative and tasty. We were served a delicious breakfast and received a refill on the coffee without asking, while other staff made sure our needs were being met (without hovering). The prices were more than fair, and the servings were generous. We left the restaurant after a very satisfying dining experience with the friendly chatter of other customers fading behind us as we walked to our car. We will be back.

UPDATE: 6/15/25 We returned to Mela's Cafe for lunch to help celebrate of their 1st anniversary. After many Floridians had returned north for the summer, the restaurant was still busy with customers enjoying their favorite menu items. The variety of dishes were evident on tables throughout the restaurant, with customers obviously satisfied with their individual choices. The dining area is spotless and tables well bussed. Wait staff is attentive and responsive (including the owner). There appears to have been a tasteful remodeling of areas within the restaurant. This is clearly a place where the ownership takes great pride in providing their customers with a welcoming reason to return for another great dining experience. The relaxed conversation throughout the dining room gives off the vibe of a familiar place for friends to gather. With the large selection of cafes in the area, it is still easy to make Mela's...

We were happy to visit Mela's for breakfast before heading to the Botanical Gardens. We saw it had a strong 4.8 avg rating. I wish our dining experience was better and I could give them a higher review, sadly, they are struggling with opening pains 😕 The dining areas are separated by a wall, and this creates an area of blindness and lack of attention that is better served to customers in the main dining room. We waited for service, attention after ordering and following up on our drinks and satisfaction. This is because of servers working both sides of the awkward set-up that splits the dining areas. The food was slow and cold, it tasted good but most people don't want cold eggs, cold bacon and cold french toast - even if it tastes good. I genuinely hope that they focus on better sectional server assignments and not spreading servers across these separate dining spaces, it affects the attention to service significantly. If you want to get prompt service, attention and warm food, I suggest waiting for the main dining area on busy days when you might be put in the small, separate dining area and beverage bar, until they get their opening pains, service section training and expediting food under control. I look forward to visiting again, later, hopefully to get a better experience because we love visiting their companion restaurant frequently, Angelo's...

EDIT: I can't believe how the manager who responded to my comment LIES. I posted a picture of my avocado toast when it was brought right away and it is also clear in the picture that the DEAD bug was there FROM THE BEGINNING and did not fall while I was eating as you are trying to justify. I SAW IT when I was already eating. This clearly shows that your kitchen is dirty and because of this impudence that you committed and lied, I will call the relevant institutions to do the necessary checks on you! And no, we waited much longer than 20 minutes!!!! And no, tomatoes are included in every standart avocado toast like in your menu too and I didn't want them substituted with hash browns. I ordered hash browns as an extra on my toast. First of all, don't go to this place very hungry. You have to wait 30min for your food to come. Then, inspect the food very carefully so that it doesn't end up with bugs like mine. There were even tomatoes missing from my toast, which according to the menu should have been there. btw this was the most tasteless hash browns potatoes I've ever eaten... they didn't even have salt. Third, don't expect good service - what I hate most is when the waiter tries to leave while I'm talking while I'm still explaining what I...

Today we had the opportunity to check out this restaurant. We had an excellent experience. We were in the area and it was lunch time. We checked Google for recommendations and Mela’s came up, so we decided to give it a try. We got seated right away and it was pretty busy. As we were seated we saw plates being served to other customers. They looked very appetizing and plated nicely. The staff were very nice and attentive, and we so happened was taken care of by Mela herself. The food was delicious and tasted liked they used quality and fresh ingredients. Everything was cooked perfectly and we especially liked how the pancakes were cooked with crisp on outside edges. The prices were reasonable and the amount was just right. There’s lots of parking and lot’s of seating. If we’re in the area again, we’re definitely coming back. Recommended!
