My wife and I spotted a neon lighted entryway in our neighborhood and decided that neon would be perfect for lighting our large pear shaped dining room table. I found Neon 419 in NJ via a web search and had the owner, Roger Borg, visit our loft apartment to get an idea of the space we wanted to illuminate.
Roger measured the table and complex space above it and listened to our concept of two concentric tubes depicting ocean waves and swells. Roger made a sketch and provided a quotation including the neon tubes, transformers, and installation. We picked the color from a wide range of options, and after some slight changes, we gave Roger the order. He manufactured, delivered, and, installed it promptly. He spent over nine hours ensuring that it was positioned perfectly. It even has a dimmer which allows a wide range of light to match any mood.
The best way to describe the resulting piece is as a glass sculpture that also happens to be an amazing source of light, not only for the dining area, but for the entire open space in our loft. On short winter days, it provides a warm and soothing light that lifts our spirits and confirms that spring will some day arrive. Roger's work is certainly the centerpiece...
Read moreWe have received so many compliments on the sign we had made by Roger at 419 Neon! I am a librarian at the Newark Public Library, and the library is launching a makerspace for creative entrepreneurs, called Made@NPL. We wanted to get a bold sign to show off the new space, and we needed it in a hurry. We were referred to 419 Neon, and from the first time we spoke with Roger, to the day of installation, our experience was smooth sailing. Roger listened to our needs and made recommendations, provided examples, and worked with us until we were happy with the final design. He kept us updated as he was working, so we knew what was happening, what the next steps were, and he asked for feedback throughout the process so that we felt like we had options. We opted for 419 Neon to deliver and install the sign for us, and Roger came a week before to inspect the area to make sure there would be no hiccups. Ultimately, we purchased a stunning sign that we received within the rush timeline, and it really pulls the space together and brings attention to the library's exciting new space. I highly recommend Roger and 419 Neon to anyone looking for real (not LED) neon signs or art in their home...
Read moreI work at an art gallery in NYC, and the gallery was putting on a conceptual show and needed two neon pieces made. We had never had any neon made before; I would send Roger at least 5 emails a day asking him different questions about the neon process. He was extremely responsive and so helpful. He never seemed bothered by the amount of attention and help we needed. When he came to do the install he was very professional and said if we needed any adjustments he would be glad to come back and fix any issues that might arise, naturally there were no problems. Roger was the most helpful, least expensive and very easy to work with. I got quotes from 5 different neon companies, and Roger truly was the best choice! He even took time out of his busy day to have a conference call with my director and me to ensure that he knew what we wanted because the artist was very specific. Thanks...
