They had me at “complimentary tots”, yes I said it… you get free tater tots before your drinks and food ever arrive. Pure genius.
The atmosphere was as advertised except there was this strange haze in the air. Maybe the choice of lighting? No idea what that was about. Anyway, the rest of the food was slightly above average. We got wings: half ginger soy and half crazy hot… they were cooked in the center however i prefer the cook on the outside to be harder. The “crazy hot” lived up to it’s name. So, i am a jalapeño max level person. Anything hotter than that and i don’t enjoy it. The crazy hot had habaneros +, so i could eat 1 wing with discomfort but I didn’t go back for a second. So i’m sure you sick-o’s who like to torture yourselves would love these.
Then we got a grilled ruben. It was good nothing mind blowing there. A good sandwich to eat with beers.
We also got the cauliflower crust Kennett square flatbread. They pulled that off well with one slight suggestion. There is too much cheese. It ended up being very very savory for our taste. But if you like a lot of cheese you’ll love this.
The star of the show is the front of house team. Paige was our server. Great attitude, attentive, genuinely wants you to enjoy your time there. The servers work as a team. And bus each other’s tables. Fyi: a good sign that the you’ll have a good experience is if when you take a look at your silverware and it is free from soap dots, that means that the servers polish it as part of their side work. Its a step that many restaurants are skipping because management or servers are lazy. if its done it shows they care about cleanliness and have pride, and it is likely that the rest of the side work is being done, leading to perfection and attention to the little things.
All in all, we certainly will be back and bring friends because we know that while the food is probably “good” across the board, the front of house will make sure you have a great time without issues.
I’m sure there are gems on the menu that we did not experience, but hey…...
Read moreI gave it 3 stars because the bartender on Sunday 10/16 before the eagles game was attentive, alert, and friendly. Also for their amazing cap'n crunch breaded chicken fingers 🤌🏼❤️🤌🏼 delicious. I was not a fan of their version of Shrimp and Gritz (sorry I didn't take photos the presentation was disappointing) was listed as blackened shrimp over creamy cheddar grits and they were lumpy and gritty like clumps of tapioca/risotto...So hard to explain the texture of the grits. Creamy is not a word I would use to describe them. If you order the Creole Chicken with holy Trinity vegetables in Creole sauce be forewarned there are no actual vegetables in the dish. It's just chicken and pasta. Holy Trinity only means the sauce started with onions, green peppers and celery cooked until caramelized. I may go back and try my second option and write another review if...
Read moreThis was an interesting little place in Phoenixville and out of the way from the Main Street area. It's a basic bar and restaurant but what makes them unique is that they have specials based on a state. When I went there it was Georgia and the salad with nut in crusted chicken and peaches was absolutely delightful! It was really unexpected. They have an outdoor patio and a huge bar in the center. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our lunch and the service was good. I think this place would be great for watching sports and a Saturday night out. They do have live music although I have not experienced it, yet. This is a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of downtown...
