Atlanta Utility Works — Restaurant in East Point

Just enjoyed a long conversation with the owner of Atlanta utility works Melanie. We learned about the seed capital that bought the place and enjoyed the brew by Arches brewing, while talking about the history of the Atlanta utility work building, the vision Melanie had for brewing Kombucha tea, her passion, with a recipe passed down from generations before Melanie. As you can tell, the conversation was fascinating.

This place is nothing short of amazing.

Regarding Arches brewing, the IPA; A moment in time, hazy, is not to be missed.

The bar keep, Fallon, while making four bloody Mary's for the two couples in front, took our order for A moment in time and everyone was happy about the excellent service. Fallon also apologized for the kitchen not yet being open to serve lunch due to short staff, but this problem resolved after a few minutes. Our IPA and the four loaded bloody Mary's for the other two couplies keep us busy while the kitchen opened up.

I had an opportunity to talk to Fallon after she had poured our IPA's and she gave me the inside info on Arches, Atlanta Utility Works, brewing in general and some history of Arches brewing.

Engaging, enlightening and...

The venue is very rustic. The electricity does not work and they power your AV (DJ, band, fans and other items) with a small generator that may or may not work. They have goats on site and leave them on site for your event. The table and tablecloth rental is included in your rental but they keep the tablecloths in a bucket so they are dirty and extremely wrinkle. They also had a golf cart in the middle of the patio section we rented. The drinks must be purchased ahead of time which is fine but all unconsumed or unused drink tokens cannot be turned back in for a credit. Our guests enjoyed our outside concert event but it was a lot of work cleaning up the venue before the event. Yes, we had to cleanup ourselves because they had an event the night before and did not clean up prior to our event starting. Please make arrangements with the City of East Point for parking. Other than the cleanliness the venue was great. The staff was very pleasant day of and leading up to the event. I would not rate it lower than a 3 but the rating decreased from a 5 based on the condition it was in...

The atmosphere at this brewery is absolutely amazing! Since they revamped their indoor taproom, it's become a beautiful space to enjoy a lazy afternoon.

There's plenty of comfortable seating. While I was there, I drank a pint of the arches beer with a turkey club sandwich, and it was so good! They have plenty of little shareables too, like their pretzels and buffalo dip.

The setting is truly unique as it has a factory and industrial vibe with some old machinery still on display. It's right beside the old railroad tracks, so you might even catch a train going by.

This brewery also hosts a lot of exciting events. On the day I went, there was a live band playing and it definitely added to the experience. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for something different and unique to try out in the Atlanta area. There's truly nothing...
