Let me just say I have been eating Indian cuisine for 30 years At local restaurants in Providence, East Greenwich and surrounding areas. Swad is the best by far. We started with the coconut curry mussels, tender and flavorful. I even had them v box up the broth to take home. I had the Lamb Saag my favorite dish and it surpassed all the other restaurants. The lamb was so tender, falling apart you didn’t need to use a knife to cut it. Flavors were well balanced with a small kick of heat, very enjoyable! My fiancé had the Coconut shrimp curry and it was mouth watering. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the flavors just blended together so well. Of course you cannot forget to order the Naan to help you scoop up all the mouthwatering goodness. The Naan is flavor packed, we chose the garlic and Cilantro. So fluffy and soft, you can’t go wrong with any flavor! The owner and his wait staff were very kind and generous. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a nice atmosphere, I also enjoyed the music and couldn’t sit still in my seat while savoring every bite lol. If you love Indian cuisine, please take a drive to Riverside, it’s well worth the trip. They’re located right across the street from Willet Pond. Say hello to Niraj, owner and his waiter Jay, tell them Michelle and Ed sent you and enjoy!!!

Riverside, Rhode Island, has just welcomed a new restaurant, Swad, and it’s already making waves. Offering a mix of Indian and Nepali cuisine, Swad delivers authentic flavors and a memorable dining experience. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling several dishes, and every bite was a treat. The momo (Nepali-style dumplings) stole the show for me—they were so delicious I ordered an extra batch to take home! The potato samosa was perfectly crispy, the jackfruit masala had a rich, flavorful depth, and the garlic naan was soft, buttery, and just the right accompaniment. To top it off, the mango lassi was refreshingly sweet and creamy. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Although Swad is still working on their bar, I’m excited for their upcoming signature cocktails, which promise to feature handcrafted herbs and spices a perfect pairing with their menu. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with great food and a welcoming atmosphere, Swad is a must visit. Riverside is lucky to have it!

Wow wow wow. I have so much to say about this restaurant. It is impeccably clean, has a cozy yet classy vibe, delicious food, unique drinks, and above and beyond service. We asked our server, Alyssa, to order for us and boy did she deliver. We had spicy cauliflower, muscles, 2 different kinds of chicken, 2 kinds of naan, rice, and momos. All of these things were incredible. I actually said out loud, "I can live off of these momos". I don't remember the exact names of the cocktails we drank, but all of them were so unique! One was cardamon, one was tamarind, and one was cucumber. AND THE PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE! So delicious! Our server was exceptional and so knowledgeable about the drinks and the menu. The owner came out and chatted with us for a bit. He really made us feel like family. My only regret is that we don't live nearby and can't come more often. Thank you, Swat, for such a memorable and noteworthy experience.

A Culinary Gem in Riverside – Swad Delivers Pure Magic!

If you’re searching for authentic Indian cuisine that truly transports your taste buds, look no further than Swad in Riverside, RI. I had the pleasure of trying their Lamb Biryani, Lamb Korma, and Garlic Naan, and let me tell you—this was a meal I won’t soon forget.

Lamb Biryani: This dish is an aromatic masterpiece. The rice was perfectly fluffy and infused with just the right blend of spices—fragrant, flavorful, and rich without being overwhelming. The lamb was tender beyond belief, practically melting in the mouth. Every bite was a perfect balance of heat and savory depth, and the portion was generous without being over-the-top.

Lamb Korma: Creamy, luxurious, and deeply satisfying. The sauce was a silky blend of cashew, cream, and delicate spices that wrapped around each piece of lamb like a hug. The lamb itself was again incredibly tender, slow-cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich and layered, with just the right hint of sweetness to complement the savory richness.

Garlic Naan: Oh, the naan. Pillowy, fresh, and full of roasted garlic flavor. Perfectly charred in spots from the tandoor and brushed lightly with butter, it was the ideal companion to scoop up every last drop of that glorious korma sauce. Honestly, I could have made a meal of the naan alone—it’s that good.

The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. Swad doesn’t just serve food—they serve an experience. This is the kind of place you come back to, time and time again.

Five stars isn’t enough. Swad is a...
