Farnsworth Cafe — Restaurant in East Providence

We have occasionally gone here as we have a handicapped family member that lives in the area. The place has always been outdated and the food just ok, but recently we went there and were treated so rudely that we left and will never return.

We were a party of six and were told that we had to wait for for their one and only table that could seat 6 people, even though it was in use and did not look like the patrons using it were leaving anytime soon. The restaurant also had 5 open tables that would seat 4 each, with 2 tables that could easily be slid together to accommodate our party. We politely asked if they would move the tables together so we could sit down and were told no. There was no others waiting to be seated and only one party of 3 entered within 20 of our arrival.

At one point a server overheard us talking and snapped at us stating there was nothing they could do as they couldn't ask the people sitting at the table to leave. Still would not combine a couple of tables so that we could sit, and we stood there awkwardly.

Eventually this same server approached the the table of 6 and asked them to move to a different table to talk as we were waiting; very unprofessional behavior.

This entire situation upset our handicapped family member and we decided to leave and find a more customer friendly restaurant; which...

Super roomy and cute breakfast place! There is the standard fare menu with some nice specialties. My wife had the Strawberry French Toast which she loved! I had the eggs Benedict with a really nice chunk of ham on each muffin. Honestly never better ham on a Benedict Our server was great with fast service and a never let your coffee cup get empty approach. I have included their changed hours to make sure you choose for breakfast, lunch, or dinner right on time. They had a great set of activities for kids to utilize while people wait for food. These blocks are maintained every week with extra cleaning practices. What a great idea! Did I mention the prices, service, and food being awesome?! Well, it's a must return for us as we need to sample more!

My favorite local eatery. Amazingly fresh, high quality ingredients. The menu is full of local favorites as well as typical American comfort food, but the quality is what is exceptional. Every dish has home cooked taste with ingredients that are clearly picked daily by the chef. For example their salads always have an incredibly fresh spring mix base. The eggplant parm is never greasy. And their fish is perfectly crisp and never too heavy on the batter. It's a comfortable layout, tastefully decorated. The breakfast is one of the best in town.
