Taconeando Mexican Style — Restaurant in East Providence

I visited Taconeando yesterday around 11:30 AM for lunch. Located in a little strip mall, it's easy to pass by unless you're specifically looking for it. However, once inside, the interior is amazingly colorful with handcrafted tables and chairs, festive decor, and plenty of room.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating, providing the kind of attentive service that felt like being waited on by a caring grandma. They recommended the birria tacos, but I opted for the quezabirria plate with beans and rice.

The food presentation was excellent, with everything looking fresh, hot, and delicious. My horchata was served in a colorful clay jar, adding to the authentic feel. Taste-wise, this was the first time in a while that I was truly impressed by restaurant food. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chips and salsa were good, but the guacamole was amazing. The birria and consomé were both layered with flavors, making my eyes widen with delight at the first taste.

The atmosphere was colorful and inviting, and the restaurant was very clean and well-maintained. Prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food.

What I liked most was definitely the quezabirria. I would absolutely recommend Taconeando to others and will definitely visit again to explore more...

We visited Taco Mania on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away with no wait. The service was quick, efficient, and incredibly helpful every question we had was answered, and the staff offered great recommendations with a smile. Once seated, we were welcomed with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were hot and freshly made, perfectly paired with a vibrant, fresh salsa that set the tone for the rest of the meal. For our entrees, we ordered chicken and steak tacos along with chicken empanadas. The tacos were packed with flavor, especially when paired with the two hot salsas provided each adding its own unique kick that made the flavors truly pop. The real standout of the night, though, were the chicken empanadas. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and bursting with savory goodness, they were hands down the best empanadas I’ve ever had. You guys messed up my food . . . . I called in to place a pick up order and dispite clear instruction the guy in the phone did not bother to listen to or pay any attention whatsoever to what I requested. The order I received is not what I asked for.

Response to owner: I order two orders of Tamales. What I requested was that the tamales remain wrapped and without anything on them so they could be stored and steamed for the the next day. That was the whole point of my order. Just a tamale in a corn husk. That did not happen. They were unwrapped and covered in sause.

When I called the first thing I did, before even placing the order, was to ask if that was something that could be done. The response was "yes" but I do not think the guy I talked to was paying any attention. He really just did not seem interested in...
