New China Restaurant — Restaurant in East Ridge

I was placing an order for my husband. She asked if I wanted plate or combo? I said I’m not sure let me tell you what I want and you tell me which one I need to order. I said I was the sweet and sour chicken and can I get 1/2 rice and 1/2 noodles? She literally shouts at me no no no no no we do not do that, sweet sour chicken come rice. I said well can I pay extra and have it come 1/2 rice and 1/2 noodles?Again she shouts at me at the top of her lungs NO NO NO NO NO WE DO NOT DO THAT, IT COME RICE!!!!! The longer I stand there the more I was noticing the place literally smelled like pure sewage I just turned and walked out. I figured if I want half rice and half noodles there would be an upcharge and I was fine with that but to flat out scream at me at the top of her lungs was most definitely not the correct way to address a paying customer! I won’t ever be back to this store that wreaked of the smell of raw sewage and the owner lady’s attitude matched the odor! I will not ever stand and be screamed at by anyone much less a business I’m buying from. Much less stand in there with the ordor so loud it made me nauseous! Honestly I noticed the odor when I walked in but I thought maybe it was cabbage or broccoli cause those can be strong scents. The longer I stood there I knew it wasn’t broccoli nor cabbage it was raw sewage scent and that is pure nastiness. I normally don’t do bad reviews because I don’t want to hurt a small business especially but the health department needs to investigate the odor in that place. The owner needs to learn how to treat and speak to paying customers! What is wrong with these people these days?? No excuses for poor customer service and zero excuse to ever open your loud mouth and scream and talk down to a paying...

I was absolutely not very satisfied here. I was in a hurry the day I stopped but realize that everyone can't be fast food which is why I stopped. Normally Asian food is cooked fresh. I hadn't ever been there so wasn't sure what to expect. Upon entering. There was an older gentleman sitting at one of the tables, head down on his crossed arms. Sound asleep. I thought ok...I'm not going to judge bc I can't imagine how hard he must usually work. Plus he was pretty up in age. So, what do you say?! Yet then, a very young small child. Took my order. Rang me up. Knew how to work the card machine. I was stunned. I know it's custom they put their children to work from an early age. So, as I stood there listening to her call my order out in her native language. I was thinking it was neat how young but how smart she is. But then, she disappeared into an area to the left where there were 2 pull doors. There was a small cot there and another young girl. Maybe a teen. Was sitting on the floor cot, picking her toenails. Then when they noticed I looked at the elderly man again, looked toward the room w/the cot. The girls were made to wake the man up,, which he moved to the cot & the girls sat at the table he was sleeping at. The girl that had been picking her toenails, didn't wash her hands before sitting down to play on her phone the at the table. That....done it for me. Since the meal wasn't costly. I didn't say a word. I just left. Needless to say, I won't be going back. Too bad too. It doesn't appear East Ridge has many Asian places to...

Ok this place was awesome back in 2008 I would have told you it was the best of it's kind in chattanooga but after 2012 the place has went downhill. It used to be awesome the food was great when you order it they tell you a time and you come pick it up and it's ready and hot. Now days when you place an order they tell you it will be 10 minutes you show up and pay for it and they tell you it will be 10 minutes not cool. Also the other night me and my wife said that we were going to give them another chance so we ordered shrimp fried rice shrimp egg rolls pork fried rice and vegetable egg rolls they told me a time of 20 minutes, it was an hour before I got my food and as I said before I don't call in anymore because they never start to make it so I just show up in order. On Friday it took an hour to get my food they didn't have any kind of sauce like soy sauce or duck sauce the lady was rude and they act as if I have not been coming here for 10 years. I might give them another chance but I will never recommend them to anyone else. Hate that it had to...
