Habanero Mexican Grill — Restaurant in East San Gabriel

I use to go there every week or when i had the chance since i live a block down from them for 19 years. But gradually over time the service and food got worse and worse. The quality of food is not consistent on a day to day bases. It varies from good or bad. The employees don't speak very much English, so it makes ordering food over the phone and in person extremely hard. The owner has a machismo attitude to him which makes you not want to deal with him or the business Half the time i order in person or over the phone they mix up my orders. So when i have to go back and have them correct there error, they play it off as this is what you ordered or they give you a major attitude about the process. But this only comes from the gentleman owner and the The only female worker there who speaks good English. The last time i went there i called a head of time . I had to repeat my order three time to the gentleman who answered who had a hard time speaking proper English. When i received my food they had once again mixed up my order. When i returned to have my order corrected. The lady played it off as this is what you ordered and when i began to correct her. The owner cut in and returned the money for the burrito they fouled up on and said not to come back anymore which wont be a loss to me seeing how he didn't give me the full amount back for the Burrito. My experience with these people is not good. They are HORRIBLE at servicing customers as first come first serve, they act ignorant as they don't speak much English. The owner, the so called owner, who was cooking this morning prepared the order for another customer when we were FIRST to come to the location. I had been a faithful customer despite the prices changing almost EVERYTIME I purchased something. I will be posting a BAD REVIEW FOR THIS LOCATION and reporting their discriminating actions on YELP and checking them on the BBB. Not even sure if the employees are even legal workers. Most likely not. I don't have a problem with undocumented workers when they are working with an appreciation for the opportunity to make an American dollar and pay sales tax.

P.S. NOTE TO YOU ALL...THEY SCRAMBLE THE EGGS RIGHT ON THE DIRTY GRILL WITHOUT EVEN MIXING THE EGG AND YOKE FIRST SO IT LOOKS GROSS. (I only went to the place today because my daughter wanted to try them one again.....bad decision. Their service and attitude...

I've been here twice in the last two weeks, not gonna lie but it's pretty good ;)

I drive by this place daily but never gave it a chance till now. So I stopped by on my way home from work because I was starving and didn't have a lunch. When you drive up to the location it can be a bit confusing because you pull in from the back of the location and drive forward to the front and order. I ordered a carne asada burrito because I always say "there is no way a mexican restaurant can mess up a basic burrito" LoL and a small drink. Customer service was great, fast and friendly just how I like it! Pulled up, paid my ordered, grabbed my brown paper bag & drink, and I was on my Happy way. The burrito was a decent size, very flavorful, and it came with some delicious crunchy home made chips. So far that has been all I've tired on both of my visits but next visit I'll try something new and update this review.
