What a disappointment! Should have turned and left when I saw how out of place this restaurant was in a plaza occupied by Trader Joe's. But, then again, out of place restaurants usually have the best food (at least from my experience). Why Thirsty, however, isn't one of these places.
To start, if you can't read Chinese, don't EVEN bother showing up to this place. It's the first Asian restaurant I've been to that have menus that's ALL in Chinese! Thank God I went to Chinese School!
I ordered the Beef Noodle and it was MEH. The beef wasn't that tender and the noodle/broth was fairly typical. I tried the pork chop and it wasn't anything special either. I've definitely experienced better.
Overall, I was disappointed. I thought it would be pretty good since it was rated 4 stars on Yelp and there seems to be a never ending line of people wanting to get a table. Maybe I'm missing something...

I ordered a chrysanthemum, oolong tea with boba, 50% sweet, lite ice.
The boba is delicious and the tea was so flavorful.
Coincidently, the owner’s wife, Cleo, owns Sharp Tea in Little Tokyo, another tea shop that I go to all the time. Sharp Tea is delicious, too, if you find yourself on the Weller Court.
I will return to Why Thirsty again. Everyone here is super nice and have positive spirits.
