Bikinis Beach Bar — Restaurant in East Tawas

I was there this past Sat night as it was the place chosen for my best friends surprise engagement, on the beach. I had the unfortunate experience of an extremely rude bartender and her rude comment was the only time me and the bride to be were acknowledged after waiting patiently for over 15 mins at the bar. She helped people she knew and others around me. I was in line with others who were complaining service was poor. And a girl came up behind me asked has I been waiting because she couldn’t get service at the end of the bar either. So, me and my friend split up to stand in two different spots at the bar, the girl behind me get served and over the loud bar I said to the bartender “we’ve been waiting” and do I get an apology or “how can help you?” No, the rude bartender in the blue and white pinstripe shirt, that looked like a tent, says “don’t yell at me” are you kidding me? This place was a joke. I was trying to order for 10 of us!! So, after the wait and then the rudeness all 10 of us went on with the proposal plans and went elsewhere to celebrate and spend our money! Don’t worry, we are all leaving our reviews on IG, Facebook, snap chat, twitter, and tik tok!! Not to mention we’ve made sure to share this story with everyone we’ve run into that also regularly visits tawas. We won’t ever come to this...

Unimpressed. Was super excited to check this place out since the location is beautiful but was left disappointed. Restaurant was chaos upon arrival, table was covered in ketchup amongst other things, there was no sign of any servers whatsoever amongst the chaos so my husband attempted to order at the bar (to no avail, as it was packed) during which a server finally came up to me and asked if we’d been served. I said no and we ordered with her. Margarita was the worst I’ve ever had, which was to be expected at a beach bar. I understand they’re too busy to be mixing actual drinks back there, but this thing tasted completely of sour mix and sour mix only. Ordered the shrimp basket and upon delivery our server informed us that they were out of cocktail sauce….. which would have been nice to know prior to getting the food as I likely would have changed my order. They were also out of salt? Ordered a second drink to make up for the terrible first one only for the server to come back again to tell me they were out of that draft beer and only had one left on tap. The server was friendly and kind, the only redeeming quality here. I’m not blaming her for any of this whatsoever. Establishment seems very poorly managed overall, so much...

Been coming here for years while visiting our summer vacation home. Loved coming here for the views and atmosphere. While that hasn’t changed, the quality of the food and service has gone down drastically. Our server was trying her best but was the only server for the entire bar on a holiday weekend. There were 4-5 other employees with “staff” labeled on their shirts, but walking around aimlessly. They would occasionally pick up an empty glass but did absolutely nothing to ease the workload of the one server actually waiting on tables. Because of this, service was slow. The bartenders also couldn’t keep up, seemed like more socializing then mixing drinks for the server. Drinks took 15-20 minutes to come out, waited with empty glasses trying to order the next round and incorrect food was brought out. The food prices have also gone up quite a bit. It's a shame because this has been a staple of our trips here and we will unfortunately be picking a different spot to spend our evenings. I will commend our server because she was giving her absolute best to keep up...
