I had been wanting to try this place and had a little time to kill before the 7pm movie I wanted to see that was being shown at Asbury United Methodist Church. I walked the couple of blocks from the church down to the restaurant. It was uncomfortably warm. Either there was no air conditioning or they didn't want to turn it on but it made me think twice about whether to stay and eat. They sat me at a booth where the menu was already waiting on the table. I ordered a sweet tea and as I was looking over the menu a waitress brought our some tortilla chips with a red salsa and a white sauce. I was disappointed to find the white sauce was like a ranch dressing as opposed to the white sauce I really enjoy at another popular Mexican restaurant across town. The red salsa was very bland with no heat at all. I attempted to make the salsa more palatable by adding some of the habanero sauce that was on the table. That was a mistake. Not only did I not like the flavor of the habanero sauce, it took the salsa from no heat to too much heat for my taste. I ordered the Chile Rellenos as my main course. They were really quite good as were the black beans and rice that accompanied them. I would skip the sweet tea as it had a sour taste like happens if you leave it out of the refrigerator too long. The three star rating is only because of the main course. I might try them again if they can get their air conditioning working. If they actually get a copy of this review, I hope they will find a better salsa...
Read moreWow. I'm gonna go ahead and say it, but this is the best pizza I've had on the Eastern Shore. More details to come, but wanted to get that out of the way first. My wife and I popped in for dinner on a Monday evening, after getting a recommendation from some friends. We weren't expecting such a comprehensive menu, with tons of awesome options for whatever mood you're in. The chips and salsa were great, and they serve a lime crema with them that is AMAZING. My wife got the al pastor tacos, and they were absolutely loaded, with a ton of grilled onions, pineapple, and great pieces of pork. I was feeling a bit more adventurous, and was craving a pizza that I used to serve at a restaurant I worked at, and Veronica, our EXCELLENT server was more than happy to oblige and make me an off-menu specialty, and it was truly great. The crust on this pizza was nearly perfect, with a great crunch, good flavor, and plenty of toppings. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying some of the other things iny the menu, like the burgers and Tortas.
PS: If you want to try something amazing and a little different from what you usually have, get a plain white pizza with spinach and finely chopped tomatoes, then have them top the pizza with an order of fried calamari, and then drizzle it with the crema sauce. Just ask for a...
Read moreI think that this is the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at unfortunately. When we went in, we were brought standard chips with salsa and white sauce. The salsa was weird: it had the texture of ketchup and tasted like vinegar. The white sauce was actually inedible: it tasted like buttermilk. There was also a ice cube in it (?) not sure what that was about. We got the queso and also garlic bread with mozzarella. The queso was fine! The garlic bread was also inedible: it was covered in way too much greasy mozzarella cheese and also just had an odd aftertaste and bizzare texture. We got a seafood dish: totally inedible. Filled with clam shells with no clams in them as well. There was almost no food in the dish and it was 24 dollars as well which wouldn’t really have been an issue if it was good but no. The seafood I will say did not seem like it was bad, it seemed fresh, but the sauce it was in was unfortunately disgusting. I will say our server was an absolute angel and so sweet and nice. We did not try to get it comped or anything so I’m not sure how that would have gone. I feel bad leaving a bad review but it was just so bad! But our waitress...
