We have had our eye on going to Lasheens for a few months, but always were interrupted by life and covid~ FINALLY we went tonight with another couple! What a pleasant adventure for us~
Lasheens has the look of a take out restaurant, with a few tables on the side by the windows and that is where we sat. All four of us ordered the Lamb Kabob Platter. The servings were ample and chips and humus were served (plus hot sauce and extra garlic yogurt sauce). An order of fries also appeared on the table, although we are not sure where they came from as we hadn't ordered them. LOL. The Fries were cooked in fresh oil and cooked to perfection. Their chef(s) know how to cook well!
The staff was most welcoming and friendly and they checked on us to be sure all was well frequently (it was!). We laughed because the lady apologized for the "wait" for our food, but we hadn't noticed at all. It was well worth any wait when the food did arrive!
The Food was DELICIOUS! The lamb slices over the orange rice (wonder what made that color - it was tasty) and the fresh garden style salad next to the rice, with garlic yogurt sauce drizzled with perfection over top of the entire meal made it heavenly. We finished off our meal with take home desserts of chocolate mousse and cheesecake.
No... I wasn't paid or asked to do this review. I feel Lasheens is so good it stands on its own merits: Good Customer Service, A Pleasant Well Lit Atmosphere, Plenty of Parking and Great Tasting Middle Eastern Food choices! (Lots of fried chicken on the menu, too.... maybe...
Read moreAsked to order hummus, they were out. Okay, ordered something else and did not receive all of my order. That aside, the service was terrible. The person making my order was on an FaceTime call and rude (which was not only slowing her down but also extremely unsanitary), and the store was filthyyyy and smelled like a gym locker room. Additionally, me and my friend ordered separately, and it was just the two of us at first. After about 7 minutes my friend received her food and then the women took my order (after giving me a dirty look realizing that we were ordering separate and not just the one order), she took my order, then immediately took the person who just walked in behind me, made their food and handed it out to them before mine was done. Than disappeared to the back for 3 mins before coming out to start my order. She put my food in a container but then quickly made it clear that she took it to the back and microwaved it to the point it was boiling in its own sauce. Terrible service and mediocre food (with questionable food safety). 1/10 would not recommend, only thing they had going for them was...
Read moreOur family regularly gets food from Salaam. Our go to order is the fish platter. We always do take out and pick up our order.
My wife and I split a fish platter, and we each have generous servings from one fish platter. There is always a little left over. The cost of the fish platter is less than one whopper meal at Burger King, and I believe the Salaam platters are much healthier.
The fish platter normally comes with a generous helping of salad, rice, french fries, and of course fish (two generously large pieces of fish). We normally ask for no onions in the salad, and no french fries - extra salad where the fries would normally go. On the occasion where we have gotten french fries, I can attest that the french fries are very tasty.
We have also recently tried the lamb platter. My wife is much more knowledgeable regarding whether lamb is good, as lamb was a common dish where she grew up. I generally am not a big fan of lamb. However, my wife said the lamb that came with the Salaam lamb platter was excellent - both tender and tasty. I actually thought it was very good too and would order...
