Grill 11 Lake Oconee formerly know as the Grill! I wasn’t going to make this post but the more I thought about it, it didn’t sit right with me.

Yesterday my husband and I ate at Grill 11 (first meal without kids since having a baby 3 months ago). It was later in the evening so we were just looking for something quick. The vibes were off immediately from our server. I ordered chicken tenders something simple because it was later in the evening not trying to get them to make anything crazy. Something with the chicken was off I don’t know what it was. But I let them know, was even going to still pay for them. The server with short blonde hair, older came up to the table and started arguing with me about what was wrong and snatched the plate and drinks off the table. Took it back to the manger and was talking very loudly and rudely about me. I let her know I could hear her talking about me and she’s starts arguing and yelling at me across the restaurant in front of the manager. The manager let the situation escalate to a full blown yelling attack from his server before stepping in, and only did so after I mentioned leaving a review. Nothing was done to make it right.

I went in tonight with my husband to eat here and they put us in a lower level seating where I felt like it was dark . I asked the waitress if we could sit in one of the two open seating next to the window . She said no we do a rotation on seating people . What!!! Sounds like you care more about the waitresses than the customer . I have been in the service industry all my life and can’t believe you can’t make your customer happy with such a simple request . So if I was the next customer that walked in I could get it but I couldn’t when I requested ! Wow ! I totally lost my appetite to eat . My husband went a head and ordered a Sandwich. I told the manager about this and he said he had heard from the waitress and agreed she was wrong . The waitress never acknowledged me being upset or that she had made a mistake . Our bill was a sandwich and two beers . If I was the manager I would of comped it and said come back . You would of taken a mistake and turned it good for you and the restaurant . They would of gained business forever . Instead I will never be back . Lost two customers forever . . Sadly I have been coming to this place since the place opened . This was poor training of a waitress and also a manager on how he could make it better . I am also in the customer service world and I can’t tell you how many situations we turned and gained...

Went for lunch today for the first time, and honestly not a great first impression. Hopefully it was just a bad day for them. We were informed that their seafood fryer was down, so, no calamari for me and no fried shrimp for my friend. I then changed gears and ordered the mozzarella sticks and grilled shrimp, while she ordered the grilled cheese with onion rings. My mozz sticks were overcooked and hard. Not a fan of their sweet potato fries. Menu says they are dusted with cinnamon and brown sugar, but all you can taste is the black pepper that the manufacturer dumps on them before freezing. Shrimp were great. Slaw was outstanding, however, it shouldn’t even be called a side when all you get is maybe a heaping tablespoon. The other problem we had was the speed of service. Not sure what was going on, and I know when we got there they were very busy. However, as the crowd thinned out, there were tables seated well after us that were served and leaving before I could even get our servers attention to bring us our check. We were there for almost an hour and a half for what should have been at most a 45 minute stop in for lunch. This is in no way a criticism of our server who was as friendly as she could be.
