Had a really bad experience here. I ordered red curry ramen off door dash. The menu on door dash had the option of saying no spice. I chose that because it’s usually incredibly spicy. When I received the order, the broth was not red curry. I was hoping I could pick up some red curry broth so I called the Eden prairie icchido and politely explained what happened. The guy who answered said it was because I said no spice. Initially I thought he was saying that it was red curry ramen but that’s what it looked like without spice. The broth smelled like seaweed, which red curry does not have a fishy smell to it so I was trying to clarify with him. He finally said “I gave you tonkatsu because you said no spice.” But he said this very sarcastically as if I should’ve known this. I asked if I could pick up the red curry broth, he kept saying “I don’t know” in a very dismissive and sarcastic tone. I asked for a refund. He said “I don’t know.” Asked to speak to supervisor. He said “I don’t know.” I asked why Red Curry - no spice was an option if he was going to give me tonkatsu. He said “I don’t know.” I finally asked if he understood the problem and what we could do to resolve it. He sarcastically said “yes yes yes it’s my fault. You said no spice so it’s my fault.” He was being sarcastic and doing a dismissive laugh the entire phone call. Like it was my fault for saying “no spice” and expecting red curry. I just don’t understand this? I finally said thank you and hung up. I have never been spoken to like this. I have had an amazing experience with icchido - icchido Eagan is our go to spot. I couldn’t believe the way this guy was speaking to me. Teenage service workers have better customer service and are more willing to help. I will never go to icchido Eden prairie again if that’s how they speak to and treat customers.
Also, they even wrote red curry on the container - so if it was so obvious to him that red curry no spice means tonkatsu, then why write red curry?? Are different spice levels for one broth not a thing??
To be clear, it wasn’t necessarily him giving me tonkatsu it was his rudeness and overall unhelpful behavior...
Read moreWe went on a Wednesday afternoon. Very quiet and not too busy. Great!
First time going and well, it wasn’t worth the $75 we spent. Service was great but the quality of the food we had was horrible. We started off with two buns, the pork and chicken. Both were decent but missing elements that could have brought it to the next level. My suggestion? Pickled carrots and daikon radish. It needed some type of acidity and o balance out the rich flavors. Second appetizer we got was the chicken karage. It was lightly battered and served with a mayo dipping sauce and lemon. It lacked salt. The mayo was a rich fat and the lemons acidity didn’t cut through the chicken. I ordered the seafood ramen and my partner got the stir fried beef noodles. We shared an order of beef fried rice.
Let’s start with the good. The fried rice was mid. Yes. We are starting mid because that’s all the higher this place deserved. Fried rice was once again, flavorless and heavily leaning on the fat of the beef to flavor the rest of the dish. It did not deliver. The beef was thin, scraggly and dry. Let’s move to the stir fry noodles, woof. Not enough sauce, noodles were an al dente leaning more towards the underdone realm. The green peppers gave a crunch of a pepper that was tossed on the flat top and taken off a minute later. Sure they are warm but they aren’t cooked. It was a texture nightmare.
Lastly. Listen. I love ramen. I don’t eat pork due to dietary stuff so I went for a miso soup based seafood option. There was zero flavor. The ONLY flavor was the truffle oil they drowned everything in. And here’s a tip, drowning stuff in truffle oil doesn’t make it fancy or fine dining. There was a lack of flavor. No acid, no fat, no umami. It was one of the worse dining experiences I’ve had. There are better places to get ramen for far cheaper. Save your...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped by for the first time on this Sunday evening and had this Asian male waiter wearing glasses threw a temper tantrum on us. We asked for more time to decide what to order when he firstly stopped by our table. Then when we were ready, my husband tried to stop him to order from the menu by saying "Hello, can we order now?" when he passed our table. All of sudden, he showed a full face of unpleasant and uttering "Don't rush me, I am busy" and only came back a bit later. Then he delivered our food by dropping the 2 big bowls without saying a single word, while once turned his back on us catering other customers with nice words ... for the rest of the meal, he just simply ignored us and never served/talked to us, I could only go to the counter to ask for extra bowls and bills to pay. I overheard he complained about that my husband was utterly impolite and he was so offended, etc ... excuse me, your customer was just tried to place an order, and he just asked for you to stop by our table without fancy words! Did you expect him to beg you to place an order? I was totally speechless. Definitely lack of training for this waiter in this restaurant, he was super unprofessional, emotional and unqualified for what he does. Food is subpar, the noodle soup was watered down, not as rich as the same restaurant in Minneapolis, plus the horrible service and the once-a-lifetime encounter with this glass-hearted waiter, we'll never come back again,...
