Just stayed here for 2 nights over the new years weekend. It was just ok. The guy that checked us in on 12/31 was nice but had to check on some basic questions I had- on 1/1 I had requested a new set of sofa bed sheets and mattress protector as my toddler had accidentally peed through her diaper over night. The morning lady at the desk was very nice and said she would let housekeeping know but when we returned in the evening there were no new sheets. I went to the front desk and the lady was sitting at the desk on an office chair with her laptop open and a crosswords book and told me housekeeping would not go in my room because our DND was in our door which it was not I’ve worked in hotels for about 15+ (including this very property about 13 years ago) so I know specifically not to put those on if I request service. So I knew the housekeeping person had lied and just didn’t want to do it. The front desk person had no idea what kind of sheets I was requesting and had no idea where the mattress protectors were located.
The bed was rock hard, hardly any water pressure in the shower… stuff I would have brought up had we been there longer but the minimal amount of time we were in the room it wasn’t a huge deal but made me disappointed overall.
The breakfast was good though and I was happy for so many options that my toddler would eat!
I know many hotels (and companies overall) are experiencing staff shortages so I’m assuming that these people were fairly new employees but to know that housekeeping lied about the DND and just didn’t want to do it (and that no one checked to make sure it actually wasn’t on) was super disappointing.
ADDITIONAL STAY 6/30-7/6/2023 well, I was willing to give this hotel another shot but I will not be returning. I witnessed the front desk (including the Manager Wade) being super disrespectful to other guests, the breakfast hosts literally not giving a care in the world that their toaster was on actual fire.. one of the ladies working the front desk with her headphones in on personal calls with a lobby full of people… I felt like a complete inconvenience when I asked the desk hosts a question. No smiles from any of them… EXCEPT a guy working the bar area one night. He was a breath of fresh air.
The lady that checked me in couldn’t tell me the breakfast hours and when I mentioned I’d just look online she said “yeah they are probably correct”… unmmm ok. Haha.
I didn’t use the pool or meeting space or fitness center so I can’t comment on those.
Breakfast was about the same each day. Found it off though that some days was paper products and other days it was actual plates.
The housekeeping hosts were very polite though. Always greeted my daughter and I anytime they saw us and they did a great job cleaning our room. However, I also wanted to note the many stains on the carpet in our room. Wouldn’t recommend walking around barefoot.
One more thing to note: upon checking out I had a ton (probably 30 or more) bug bites on my legs. Having worked in the hotel industry for about 15+ years I am well educated on bed bugs. I called the hotel to let them know I had bug bites but was unsure if they were bed bugs and was simply just calling the hotel to give them a heads up if they wanted to check the room. Wade cut me off mid explanation, told me he can’t take “google photos” seriously and treated me like I was completely incompetent. When I explained I wasn’t accusing him or the hotel of anything and that I wasn’t looking for any sort of compensation and flat out told him he was being rude, he continued to ask me questions in a degrading manner and asked me if I wanted him to call me back with their findings. I told him yes. It has been 6 days since and have I heard from him? Of course not.
If you’re still reading- avoid this place. I’m still a Hyatt fan but will never be back to...
Read moreRead moreI prepaid for our room through priceline a week prior to our trip. When we arrived (after driving 3 hours with two kids) we recieved our key to our room. When we got to our room, there was already a family in it. So, we call down to the front desk and tell them what happened and they told us to use our key on the next room over, so, I put the key in the door and opened it and there was a family dressing to go swimming. I never shut a door so fast in my life. The dad came out asking what was going on. We all looked like deer in headlights. Even the people in the first room we invaded saw the whole thing. We call down to the front desk AGAIN and tell them what happened. They gave us our appologies, of course, and put us in a room way down at the other end of the hall. We finally get settled and go to use the toilet and it won't flush. Great. So once again we call and tell them what is going on. They tell us they are very sorry and that we are going to have to move to another room because the toilet is broken and can't be fixed until monday. Ok, whatever, the next day we go to the Mall of America and spend the day. They asked us to have everything packed and by the door and they would move our stuff to the new room as soon as one opened up. I don't like people touching my families things, but what could I do? Everything was in a "new" room when we got back from a full day at the Mall. The manager that night gave us and the two other families drink coupons for all the trouble. Yeah, like we're gonna drink and forget this nightmare we are in. We used them, but really? We were also promised a $15 movie on them and the TV wouldn't allow us to watch nothing. We finished our 2 night nightmare with the Hyatt with the employees lying to us saying that they could comp our taxes and fees (approx. $20) back to our account. They couldn't comp us our money back because we went through Priceline. Today I talked to the manager and told him our story again and he was all snide and even told me he couldn't even find our reservation online. So where did it go? Did we just hallucinate the whole trip? I think not. The Hyatt Place of Eden Prairie is a dump with only one good thing. The beds. The food was crap and the pool sucked. Thank you Hyatt Place for a miserable birthday weekend for my fiance and ou...
DO NOT STAY HERE !!!!
This hotel shouldn't even get a 1/4 of a Star. My significant and I stayed here for four days and three nights with a bridal party we were a part of. This hotel has been booked for a reserved wedding block by the bride and groom basically a year in advance. It's so hard to express in words how disgusting the hotel is, how the staff is, and how they treat there PAYING guests. Most of their business this weekend was from the wedding party and the families and friends coming from out town. Problems started even when booking a room they were to honor a wedding rate for the RESERVED wedding block, and instead tried to overcharge us because it would be my boyfriend and myself. We weren't the only ones they were trying to victimize by this repulsive scam. When we finally got to the hotel- they didn't have knowledge of any "wedding block" as they put it. We ended up being scattered through the hotel- which usually isn't a big deal except that the elevators barely work. The rooms themselves weren't kept, dirty doesn't even do justice for description here. I'm pretty sure there were bed bugs because I have bites all over me. Whenever we expressed concern they would basically ignore us, or tell us and I quote "Well this has just been a really hard weekend for us." FOR YOU?! So unprofessional and inconsiderate. I would've rather slept in the parking lot regardless of weather. You scammed us out of money and a wonderful experience, you're hotel is not up to code and your manners were poor. I wish that was the end of my review but let's just say the FREE shuttles was ONE shuttle that could fit barely 6 people for an entire wedding day. The driver was always late, and personally didn't know how to drive. Last thing you want is to be tossed around like your lives don't matter on an important day.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. We've stayed in Hyatts before and have enjoyed them. This hotel takes the cake for uncleanliness, poor management, and health hazards. I'm so disappointed with our stay here, and that our concerns weren't even considered or taken note of. We were brushed off to the side as if all we were were $$$ they needed to...
