Read more+1 star for cleanliness so far.
So the store opened the week of Christmas 2018 and it has been a good start except for a few start up hiccups, no complains there. I make a stop there once a week or every other. During this time, the one thing that bothered me was the lack of pricing information on frozen items, bought this up with the girl at check out (as she is the only one I see every-time) and she always said we are in the process of getting them on, been 3 months and they are not there yet. They have a million reasons on why they could not get the prices on, as I asked her every-time I was there. I refrained myself from putting up a bad review just for this. However today got things under my nerves. Yesterday we had a storm with heavy wet snow and the front of the store was not cleaned and was slippery due to near freezing temperatures and bright sun. Told the girl again and she was sarcastic about getting the slippery store front taken care of, also they were missing the wet floor sign at the entrance and I wish no one gets hurt there.
Conversation with the girl (translated from regional language): Me: Hey could you have the store front shoveled and salted, seems slippery. Girl: Yeah we can have it taken care of (in a sarcastic tone). Me: My suggestion was not a bad one and you don’t have to be sarcastic. Me: I tried finding your manager as he is not around I am letting you know. Girl: I told him this morning and he did not bother about it, can’t be my mistake. Girl: Do you want me to go clean it? Me: Yeah why not. Girl: So you want me to go get the supplies and salt to do it, I am a just an employee and its not my store. Cleaning it is not my job.
I did not see a point in escalating the conversation and walked out, as I was walking out I really could not find a plow or salt. Multiple problems here, store owner who does not take care of customer safety, not providing necessary equipment to get things done, a staff who does not bother about anything and customer suggestions (my frozen food price labels) just heard and left. The moment we stop listening to our customers, is the moment we start...
Read moreI was very surprised having to find a metal string inside of my food, goat chettinadu. I would someone to take action because it's life threatening for anyone
---07/18 I’ve been a returning customer at India Market MN for a while now, but I’ve reached a point where I feel obligated to share my repeated unpleasant experiences. This is not just a one-off issue — it’s a pattern that has become unacceptable.
Today, I ordered an onion samosa, and to my disappointment, it was filled with frozen corn that had a rotten smell and stale taste. When I brought it to their attention, the way the staff treated me as a customer was extremely dismissive and unprofessional. This wasn’t just about the food — it was about the lack of basic customer courtesy.
Unfortunately, this isn’t my first bad experience here: I once found a metal string in the Mutton Chettinadu, a serious food safety hazard. On a separate visit, the chef (originally from Goa) served Mutton Chettinadu with white cream, claiming it to be authentic South Indian — which it absolutely is not. And now, serving spoiled food without any accountability or willingness to make it right.
I’m not asking for free food — I expect what I pay for: safe, fresh, and authentic meals. As paying customers, we deserve better quality and above all, respect.
I sincerely hope the management takes these concerns seriously and improves their food quality and customer service. Until then, I cannot recommend this place in...
