First time ever at Chop Stix in Eden , NC. Our waitress's name was Josie, she was amazing , very professional. The problem that I had with the whole experience was that I saw several of the most disgusting things servers can do . And as I observed I couldn't believe my eyes . One girl at the counter kept playing with her hair constantly, never saw her wash her hands not once , watched a bigger guy walk around with a customer's credit card in his mouth , until he handed it back to the customer. These are very unsanitary practices for servers to do . Whoever the night shift manager is on Friday nights around 7 pm you're definitely not paying attention to your cameras or your servers . Please do better , the food was great , but I seriously doubt I'd go back , with all the sickness going around and people with low immune systems , if you don't mind people having your credit card in your servers mouth right before handing it back to you and playing with hair before serving your food you're fine I guess . Well I let the new girl , Josie know how gross and disrespectful I thought the things I had witnessed were . The reason I knew she was new is because I told her the things I had watched happen . Bless her heart if that was her second day on the job , please let the other employees know that she was more professional than anyone else I saw in the whole establishment. Never once did I see her touch her face , her nose , her hair , she had the best personality , & the others with their disgusting habits while waiting tables need to take lessons from the very beautiful and sanitary Josie. Good job , young lady because if I would have seen that from her , I would have walked out , she's the only one that I would recommend waiting on any customers. I've been a waitress for a very long time , please reintroduce your staff to better serving practices. I realize they were younger servers but nevertheless , they were on camera the whole time , & need to know they can't play with people's lives by spreading germs this way. I...
Read moreI have a separate complaint for last night (12/10/22): Went to Chopstix tonight and was pretty disappointed. We had our kids with us and I ordered tempura chicken for him (he’s 8yo) and I ordered the hibachi chicken bowl with noodles instead of rice (I told the waitress the rice makes me feel sick because of the egg) and no veggies. She came back with the hibachi chicken rice bowl and loaded with veggies and maybe 6 pieces of chicken.. And the tempura chicken I ordered for my son was only 2 pieces and the 5 other fried pieces were zucchini, mushrooms and one onion ring 🤦🏻♀️ I was confused because that was from the kids menu which rarely includes veggies and on their menu it literally just says chicken and fries. I told her my order was wrong and she brought me a small side of noodles but nothing to put it on with my chicken. I asked her about the tempura chicken and she says it always comes with veggies but I think it’s weird to leave that out on the menu and only serve 2 small pieces of chicken with it. It was all in all just disappointing.
08/02/2022: Went to Chopstix tonight. Was excited to go, but we unfortunately didn’t have the greatest experience. The music was so loud, we could barely hear each other talk. Didn’t feel like they had AC on at all. We were placed by a window and their shades were super thin and didn’t keep the sun out at all. We had our 5 month old and 7 year old with us and they didn’t have the best time because of the heat and noise. It was a lot going on, and they were very busy but they really need to get better shades and AC. Aside from those issues, the food & staff were great. We will go back and hopefully have the experience a lot of...
Read moreWe've been here to dine in, and have also ordered take out. I'm a tough sell on Chinese restaurants - first coming from NY, and then, I'm half Chinese. My grandparents came here from China and I was fortunate to grow up having authentic Chinese, as well as NY Asian food.
Now, Chinese restaurants are the best in NY, (like pizza), no question. It's Americanized, not a yummy as authentic, but insanely delicious. Not arrogance, I promise, it really just is.
Chopstix is the closest thing to NY Asian in the South that I've had so far. With that being said, there are a few dishes I've tried that would be perfect with a little tweeking, (hence, the 4 stars), and a little more detail to presentation. Menu needs a little revamping, lunch options are extremely small and it does not offer enough choices. I noticed a few dishes missing from traditional Chinese restaurants. Pricing point is also slightly a little higher (than even NY!!) for not having nailed down the quality.
I won't list every dish, it's all pretty good so far, but what cinched it for me was the service. This restaurant has managed to snag a few REALLY AWESOME waitstaff and servers. Can't say enough, they are the backbone. I forgot the girl who prepared my take out order, but she was a complete sweetheart and went above and beyond to make sure my large order was correct.
Today, we dined in and had Carlos. He was beyond exceptional! Not your typical millennial - courteous, caring, well mannered and spoken, friendly, personable, just a complete professional, and a really sweet kid. He is an asset, hands down would give him 🌟5 stars🌟 and I will 100% always ask for him when I come...
