I was surprised by my visit today. I have not been in the area for a while and when I was driving by I chose to divert to here as I had missed the food and was happy to remember that I was actually close and had time to sit and relax. I have never had a drop of alcohol so this review/update is only for the food. I am a bit simple and set when it comes to placing orders for food as usually I have very little free time or always have a schedule to keep so I stick to what I know to avoid any surprises. Was seated/directed to settle in anywhere I wanted which was nice and the whole interior appeared to be remodeled recently which was a nice and welcomed surprise. Was given a menu and ordered the "homemade Mac and Cheese bites and the 45th burger=I ordered it plain with the bacon so just a bacon cheeseburger...I know I know but again it is just a default that is sometimes a habit because of my work schedule and not wanting to gamble. I was expecting what I had come to enjoy in the many times I had ordered food from this location and expected to be reintroduced to the staples I remember. What I received was a departure. Now I do not write reviews often and I try to be overly critical of myself before putting anything into words/text so that I am fair and balanced and do not appear to have a agenda or a bias. The mac and cheese bites were not what I had remembered from before. They tasted store bought and lacked that creamy goodness from before that was inside of basically a golf ball sized has brown that you can dip into marinara sauce. I was just surprised at the lack luster taste and the very synthetic or generic taste as if purchased from a grocery store or bulk item warehouse. The burger was ok but i felt the amount of fries it came wjth to be less than expected/hoped for or that would come with it in previous visits. The temperature and presentation was fine but the bacon was not crispy as requested as I had mentioned they could burn it if needed just so I was not getting alot of rubber/gristle/fat or whichever the correct culinary term would be for as if you cooked bacon in the microwave. It made me sad as you could order McDonald's and get crispy bacon and more of it on a burger. There were a few bites where the burger did not seem to have that more distinct or recognizable taste if a bacon cheeseburger and more so of one you get from burger king at 2am=over cooked or excessive char in some spots and then the sort of push back from it when chewing. I ate my meal as I was wrapped up in other things on my phone and had a scheduled time I needed to leave by to get to my next appointment. When it came time for the bill I had expected a certain amount given I was alone and only ordered the 2 items and a drink. What I did not know/expect or was prepared for came in the form of a service fee on the check/bill. I do not know why or what reason there was on there=I have never observed one on a check before at other establishments I have dined at. If I missed some small fine print or some new law that was enacted explaining the reason for the charge then I would say I would appreciate a more informed or announced way of ensuring guests or just new customers were made aware at the beginning of their visist as it was almost $5 which was a surprise and explained how my estimate was off in my head. I did pay my check and tipped as my server was energetic, pleasant and did not hover but also was not distant allowing me to just sit and go about my business. The visit overall would have been fine but the food at the moment has me hesitant to return with the group I had debating bringing to try our what was...

Me and my spouses came to 45th to hang out recently. We have been coming to this establishment for many years. The food is ok and drinks can use improvements but unfortunately there not many social bar/food in Burlington area. Iâve been retired Army from 24yrs active service. This place alway honor me military discount except yesterday. They refuse to honor my military services because it was explained to me from management they only honor current active duty members. I never been disrespected for my service until now.
I donât have any issue with any establishment that doesnât honor military discount, thats their prerogative. I do have an Issue when they discriminate other services status for not currently being on Active Duty status. Either you honor military services or you donât. You donât excluded other military or Veterans status . Thatâs just plan wrong and disrespectful. Itâs bad enough that the new 45th owner are adding additional charges for service charges and credit card usage charge. I use to leave a generous tip to help out the server but unfortunately the owner makes it hard to do so . After many many years coming to this place, I decided to move on to other more welcome venues that are lest selfish. Good luck
Military discount
In summary, active-duty members, reservists, veterans, retirees, and certain dependents all qualify for military discounts as a recognition of their service and sacrifices.
Restaurants Service Charges
What is a Service Charge in Restaurants? A service charge in a restaurant context refers to an additional fee that is added to the customerâs bill, which is collected by the restaurant rather than being given directly to the service staff:
1 Compensation for Services Provided: The primary purpose of a service charge is to cover the costs associated with providing services related to the meal. This can include delivering food, providing room service, or catering events. It acts as a way for restaurants to ensure that they can compensate their staff adequately for these services.
4yrs ago Was just there for lunch and it was disgusting experience. Been a long time customer of 45thand wanted to feel normal having have a beer with today crazy pandemic. The Bartender was talking to a customer, used a dirty rag to wipe down the counter, touch other item. I ask the bartender for a beer. The beer pressures was acting up so it was over foaming. She then use her fingers to wipe off the beer excess foam. She took my money and went to the register. I then ask for a orange because I wanted to see if she touch the orange with her hand with today virus going around ...............aaaaaand she did lol Not once did she ever washed or sanitize her hands. I wanted to order food but nevermind. I ask to paid the bill and walk out with out drinking my beer. I like 45th but not sure about there there cleanest...
Read moreIâve been coming here on a monthly basis. The nightly events such as karaoke and DJs on Fridays as well as the friendly staff made it worth coming back. My mother and I Enjoy it as our girls night out. Since new management has taken over, there has been a drastic decline in the service. The new bartenders do not socialize with their guests, even when the bar is nearly empty. As someone who has been a waitress for over six years, It really sucks to see that they would rather talk amongst themselves by the service bar, then talk with the people spending money who are sitting at the bar. Automatic gratuity is now included for every check. As a mom/pop neighborhood bar this is strange. The wings are great. No change in the food quality in my opinion. There is a difference in the way drinks are served. I order the same two drinks every time I come. And they have not been the same the last two visits. I was told by management to ask for âless purĂŠeâ when I complained about my drink but Iâve never had to do such a thing in the last year. A hair was found in my Titoâs cocktail, and it was barely acknowledged when I brought it to the middle Eastern bartenders attention. He just simply made me another drink. And said nothing upon giving it to me. On the bright side there is a gentleman who is darker skinned, tall, with the dreads, and he is a very friendly person. Probably the only reason why I would come back if I did. Because he would give you a pleasant dining experience as opposed to the remaining staff. Other than that, unfortunately itâs not worth it and the five star reviews on this page in the last 3 months Are fake. It saddens me to say it looks like this wonât be my...
