This place is really bad, worse than your run of the mill Bodega delis found anywhere in Hudson or Passaic County.
The girl at the counter is nice, but it seemed she was more interested being on her phone. I asked her how long a cheese burger would take to make "oh no for sure, like, super fast, like, really really fast" I said "ok, I'll take 2".
Sign on the wall says burgers are $12.99
I get my receipt, and they charged me $30. I asked how that was right, she said, "Burgers are actually closer to $14.99". I said "well put your correct prices up" she goes, "I'm not in charge".
I eat the charge and wait. 10 minutes goes bye, then another 10. Some skinny guy in his 30s in the back with prison tats is looking at his phone, doing nothing. Then every few minutes goes to bother the girl who can't be a day older than 17, and keeps rubbing on her, teasing her about who her boyfriend is or should be, I half expect her to be disguted by this, but she eats it up with a smile, which only encrouges him to waste more time with her, all the while time is ticking away, and I sit there watching.
35 minutes later im handed a small, bland, and dry puck of meat on an oiled bun. The flavor was non existent. The experience was terrible all around. Do yourself a favor drive another 10 minutes to Hirrams...
Read moreI'm not sure if they got rid of the original staff however my first visit was splendid my second and third unfortunately were terrible. The food is great but the customer service is poor. I placed an order that was $70 and they refuse to accommodate any type of request when it comes to the notes or the preference of type of meat you'd like for example I wanted two halves of white meat chicken and they refuse stating that it would be a waste for them what would they have done with the other half of the chicken if I just ordered one would it just have been a waste for them? It honestly doesn't make any sense to me especially considering that it's early in the afternoon and they have many hours of business ahead of them so if they are so concerned about wasting the dark meat for customers who prefer white meat then change your menu to prevent these issues my point is the manager on the phone did not care to accommodate my requests and has lost the customer forever. I also would like to state that a lot of people ask me where to eat and I will definitely not recommend the pit unfortunately not due to the quality of food but due to the quality of...
Read moreMy wife and I have driven down the hill and passed this BBQ establishment numerous times, we decided to stop by and try them. Upon entry we met the jovial and congenial Bianca, a very nice & friendly young lady. We also met Romero the cook, he wasn't as friendly.
We ordered half rack of Baby Back Ribs, Brisket and Texas chili. For sides we got beans, potato salad, collard greens and fries. Don't count on the sides to alleviate your hunger, the portions are very small in tiny containers, much more suited for a toddler.
My wife and I enjoyed the Brisket, it was very tender, juicy and full of flavor. The Ribs were a bit tough though, I am used to Ribs that the meat falls off the bone, but the sauce was OK. This "Texas" chili had lots of beans, whereas a true Texas chili doesn't contain any beans, but we truly enjoyed the chili, beans and all, this was the pièce de résistance!
All in all we won't go out of our way to go there for Ribs, I would much rather go to Red, White & Que Smokehouse in Kearny, but I might stop by again...
