Very good place to have authentic...made from scratch food...with a very dynamic atmosphere, people come and go, you hear laughter and conversations. The flavor of the food is very good 👍 no cheating, the ladies serving there are very nice and are attractive (sometimes the place is packed and they loose track of you) so be patient you'll spend at least 30 minutes there between ordering and receiving your food [it's made there not from a can] and that may bother some used to Mikey Ds. The 4stars part is because of parking ( a little small) and their schedule (you never know if it's going to be open). Despite having an open marquee going on they are closed and you have to get down to see if it's closed or open. As a highway creature it takes time to get there and find out the restaurant is closed when it's supposed to be open...LOL
Update 03/02/24 ...My new favorite scramble eggs and carnitas is the bomb (warning a little 🔥) and de carnitas burritos are amazing...
Update 05/06/24 This is hard for me but I just had a very non tasty experience with a barbecue plate that let me wondering if the chef was changed because whoever cooked that was totally careless about the well being of the customers 🤔 ...it comes with fries chicken beef and another meats of your preference...the fries were cold or lukewarm the ribs were extremely cooked to the point of burning them and then covered with jar barbecue sauce...also lukewarm the beef was good and hot same as the chicken but again it was all swimming in barbecue sauce which in the right proportions might be a good addition to the dish but don't over do it ...I'd love to return and see some improve on...

The good ... Let's start with a positive note: the waitress was super nice. It was a pretty busy afternoon for this little place and she was doing her absolute best to be attentive and accommodating AND doing it all with a smile. That's not easy! Guest service, in general, in our current climate is not easy. And she absolutely rocked it. It was a bit off putting, that considering NM has a mask mandate, that none of the staff had a mask on. But, whatever.
The bad: the food was NOT good! Just bland. Zero flavor. I ate it because I don't like to be rude, but I was also hungry. It was our anniversary and my husband and I try to support local small business when and where we can. So, we came here and the reviews seemed great ... So I could overlook how dirty and grimmy everything looked because ... The reviews! And I had really hope to get some authentic Mexican food. Sometimes those gritty places are the best places for that. NOPE!!! Was NOT the case here.
THE UGLY: My husband and I both got extremely sick after eating here! My husband is an NP and we're pretty certain we have food poisoning.
Now, I HATE to bash small business! I really do. I was a small business owner myself. I know how hard it is right now. It's hard. It's hard to pay bills, it's hard to hire and KEEP good staff. It's just hard! But, when it comes to serving food, you have got to be on your A game! ALWAYS! Cleanliness and product quality must come first.
Anywho, please do better! I want to support local, but not if it means getting sick and living on my toilet.
I wish I could remember our servers name! She really was great!! And I...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were working up in Edgewood today and we were really hungry and were looking for a good place to get some food and spend some quality time together! And my fiancé said let’s go to chili hills and I said sure I’ve never been their and I loved it! Sure the building is a little old inside but that never stopped me an adventure and trying new food! I was a little nervous at first but it was so nice to be away from the city and actually hear people have conversations and ask how we were genuinely doing! I got a coffee and it was really good the poor waitress was working so hard she was the only one really working up front asking if we were doing good and if my coffee was good and if everything was good.We got fried mushrooms and it was so good it reminded me of the mushrooms my mom use to make me as a kid, and we both ordered smothered breakfast burritos with green chile. I got ham he got sausage and needless to say it was so good and their hash browns and eggs were so good they weren’t supper crunchy and just it was so good with the ham and eggs and same for the sausage burrito. Our waitress was supper friendly down to earth and it was just such a cozy feeling to be away from ABQ and be able to sit and relax and eat some good New Mexican food! Definitely will be coming back when we need some more time out of the city!Thank you for your guys work and keep it up! Friendly service and staff! And they always make sure no matter how busy they get everything is going well thank you!!! I’ll always remember these quite times...
