Edit: so disappointing compared to when I first came here a year and a half ago :(
This was The best pizza I'd ever had when I first tried it, better than anything I've had in New York or New Jersey or Chicago or anything. Now it's nothing like this. The green and red chili cheesy breadsticks are now just a lesser crust piled with green chili peppers and just a touch of cheese. You can see this in the picture. The pizza never even showed up. (As I type this the pizza shows up) The pizza it's still quite good but not what it was before. All in all it's now a good place to stop for dinner but no longer a reason for me to look forward to driving through Albuquerque. The first photo is what The breadsticks now look like
Listen... I'm 47 years old, I travel the country for work, and I absolutely love great pizza. This place, out in the middle of nowhere New Mexico, IS THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD. The toppings go end to end - even with a little burnt cheese over the edge, The crust is light and crunchy at the same time, The sauce is amazing, the toppings are fresh and plentiful. Nothing is missing from perfection. Nothing. The green chili breadsticks are utterly amazing and a bit spicy but when dipped in the marinara it makes a perfect match. Drop this place anywhere in the world and it's still going to be the best around. Chicago, New York, I don't care where. If you're in the area I'm sure you already know about this place, if you're traveling through STOP HERE. Nothing else is going to compare. If you read this and then you hear because of it, Mark this is helpful, because I'd love to know that I'm spreading the word...
Read moreWe had to stop at Pizza Barn again. We wanted to let out daughter try it. Pizza and wings were great as always, but our experience was much better than last time, so I'm upgrading my rating. Staff was much more helpful and friendly.
We often like to stop in on a road trip back home. The pizza is absolutely fantastic, and today was no different. I love having the option of a non tomato based sauce since I have a tomato allergy. The ingredients are always super fresh. I really love this sausage and the big chunks of mushroom and chicken that they put on the pizza. Everybody is usually friendly and helpful, but it can take a while to get the pizza. Pizza this good is worth the wait. Today seemed extra long, about 30 minutes. Then, the girl who brought our pizza, couldn't find us, even though the number was on the table. We tried to get her attention, then when she spotted us, she rushed by, basically throwing the pizza at us and saying, "sorry", without stopping. She almost didn't get it on the stand correctly. I called after here wanting Parmesan. She looked quickly at the tables, then not seeing any, said she would be right back. She never did return, so we ended up getting it at the counter. Never had this kind of service before. We'll be back, and hopefully things will be...
Read moreAs a former #1 ranked pizza restaurant owner in a major city I love trying new pizza places. I must admit I didn’t expect much from here because it seems like a small town and this was probably one of the few pizza places they have but boy was I wrong. As a conveyor belt cooked pizza place, this is probably the best I ever had . The pizza crust was perfectly golden brown, no bubbles, perfect consistency, crispy on the bottom. You guys have those ovens dialed in, I’m impressed. The ingredients are top notch, the cheese and pepperonis don’t leak out oil when cooked which causes a greasy pizza puddle which is a sign of cheaper ingredients (like a deions) , it was perfect. The sauce was good, not as flavorful as I would like but it was good. Service was great, seating is limited but definitely the best conveyor or Conventional oven style pizza in the area (this includes Santa Fe, Albuquerque ). The calzone was made well, perfect ratio of dough and toppings. Some places just throw something together but this place you can tell everything was considered before coming up with their recipes. Salads were pretty bad though. Not creative but that be something to work on to bring it to...
