East Ocean Vietnamese Restaurant LLC — Restaurant in Edinburg

October 10 2023 @ 1:15pm walked in and waited for, who I assume was the owner, to sit us down. He was talking to a customer and even though it looked like the lunch rush was over, I respected the sign that said “wait to be seated”. He finally sat us down and said the waiter would be with us shortly. He didn’t offer us anything to drink. That’s fine. We looked over the menu but we already knew what we wanted. We were there for the Phó. We looked over to the kitchen area. I caught the person’s eye but she just turned around without acknowledging. She may have been working the drive-thru. There was someone at a cash register but they looked so preoccupied with whatever they were working on. Someone else walked in and the owner went over immediately. I assume it was a pick up because the person sat in the chairs by the door. We continued to wait and made several attempts to flag the owner or the person at the cash register. Still nothing. I glanced back again 8 minutes later and a waiter was still at the cash register. The owner was reading a magazine or something but he never looked up. My wife looked up and we tried to make it obvious that we were ready to order. I stood up hoping to remind the owner that he had sat us down 10 minutes prior. The owner never looked up at us. The girl behind the counter looked at me and then turned around to continue whatever she was working on. After 20 minutes we slowly walked to the door. We held out hope that the owner would see us leaving. I kept looking back hoping someone would offer to take our order or apologize for not acknowledging us. Not even with the sound of the door opening did the waiter or the owner look our way. We ended up just leaving. I’ve never been more uncomfortable in my life. We came down from San Antonio and maybe had that out of town look? We’re Mexican but we don’t dress Mexican. I don’t where cheap suits and overpriced shoes. My wife had on a sweater. I was wearing shorts. I couldn’t figure out what about us made us look like we couldn’t afford to eat there. We don’t come to Edinburgh much but this place is definitely on my “Do Not Visit” list. I’m writing this review from an awesome BBQ joint not defat from this place. The service is GREAT here. I’m glad you treated us the way you did. I tip regardless of the poor service a minimum of 10%. When the service is GREAT we typically tip 35%. I am so glad we were able to give our tip to a well...

Great food. We just moved to McAllen from California. This time of year (Fall season) is perfect for Pho chicken soup. I'm learning the valley is warm most of the year but sometimes it gets a little cold.

I spoke to Amy, the manager, who took the time to explain the various foods they prepare. I was lucky to find a great Pho Restaurant in California so I was somewhat familiar with the menu.

The Pho Restaurant ( East Ocean Restaurant) here in McAllen was awesome/excellent. The food was outstanding. I thought I was back in California because everything tasted the same but actually better. Sorry California. Everything is better in Texas. Yahoo.

Sometimes you can go to a different location and the food is prepared differently. This place is the real deal.

I wish I would have taken more photos of our meal but my wife and I started eating so quickly, I forgot to take the photos of the delicious Pho Chicken Soup and Pho Seafood Soup (So much shrimp).

You definitely get your money's worth. Don't forget to tip. Tipping isn't mandatory but when you get great service you have to show your appreciation and love.

Making great food comes from the heart. It's the thought that counts and you will be blessed for your kindness in so many ways. They also give you a cash discount when you pay in cash. Yeah baby.

My wife and I will definitely be customers for life and the restaurant is close to the house. BAM. It doesn't get any better than that my friends.

I have never had a issue with this restaurant of how many time we order to go eat there . There was not alot of people today and two waiters seemed lost or out of it. They did not offer at least menus to look at meanwhile they were working on other things . Please hire people who attend to customers even if its too look at the menu . This was upsetting . Hire other people who attend to costumers and not leave them waiting to get a menu .I want the owners or mangers to see this .I will be calling everyday to make sure I get this taken care of cause we are regulars and for us to be treated like that was not right .

UPDATE contact was made with the owner the very next day and he was completely understandable and open to hear my experience I had. He advised that he observed the video footage inside the restaurant and observed that we were not take care of by the personnel that day. I appreciate him reaching out to make this right and I will continue to be a customer with east...
