FINALLY, Bomhamtown has gotten a good deli! Their breakfast is EXCELLENT! With so many local delis having switched owners and/or gone down majorly in quality, Main Street Deli and Grill is a wonderful, welcomed addition to the area. Spacious and very clean with a friendly and welcoming staff, this eatery does not disappoint when it comes to food.

When one thinks of a typical Jersey breakfast sandwich, there are many expectations. In NJ we are very picky when it comes to certain foods: pizza, bagels, deli sandwiches, and breakfast sandwiches (to name a few). In the area of breakfast sandwiches this place has hit a home run. The rolls are fresh and soft. The breakfast meats are not overly greasy (and neither is the sandwich itself) and the cheeses used (yes, they give options for cheese unlike some local places) are always fresh. The breakfast potatoes are perfectly sautéed home fries. They also have hash browns available for those who prefer the deep fried, processed version of breakfast potatoes. The portions are generous and the prices are appropriate. Most importantly, the food tastes delicious! Many local delis have taken shortcuts with their breakfasts, deep frying all the meats, lazily scrambling an egg (when requested scrambled) on the grill instead of in a bowl before grilling, deep frying potatoes and calling them home fries, serving rolls that are old instead of fresh daily, not to mention the cost cutting as far as quality of products used. Another problem with many local delis is that the staff can be a bit impersonal, curt, short tempered, or sometimes just plain rude. That is certainly NOT the case here. The staff is warm, welcoming and accommodating.

Cleanliness is also an issue with many local delis. This spot is kept practically immaculately clean. They have a spacious dining area that is so clean it makes one actually want to eat in instead of grabbing the food to run off and go.

Overall I give Main Street Deli and Grill 5 Stars because they have hit the mark on every single thing one could critique about a restaurant. I truly hope they thrive in this location as many businesses before them have had issue keeping their head above water. I have yet to try the lunch offerings, but, seeing how wonderful breakfast has been the many times I’ve had it there since they’ve opened, I can’t wait to try out what they dish up for the lunch crowd! Today was my first day DoorDashing and I knew there would be ups and downs but nothing prepared me for this one. This was my first ever order and right off the bat I was hit by an attitude because I’m not the Deli’s priority. Then, after waiting about 20 minutes for my order, I hear this man, that I assume to be the manager, yell out to the cook in the back, “Get this lady in line her French toast first. I could care less about the doordash order. They can stand here all they want for all I care.”. Honestly, I didn’t even know how to react after hearing this as it was my first order but this service is completely unacceptable and I hope it can change for future delivery workers. The deli is off the beaten path- but worth it! There is a small, but clean and decorative dining area with T.V.s. and a few tables to sit outside. I have been trying to find a deli offering breakfast sandwiches that are worth the price. I found it! I ordered a pork roll, egg and cheese on a roll. The food was prepared quickly and fresh from the grill, they did not skimp on the meat and the fresh eggs were cooked perfectly. I was very happy with the taste and price. For around $6. I got the sandwich and a fresh coffee - any size. The bonus was the cashier/staff was very friendly and pleasant. This was my first time as a customer and I'm happy I found it.
