This review is about my first visit to New China House, which I made today. I won't be back even though the prices are fair and the staff are extremly personable. Overall, the restaurant is a 1/5. Below are the items I ordered and my review of each item.
A1. Pork Egg Roll 豬蛋卷 - small, dry, unsatisfying
SD2. Dumpling Soup 湯餃 - too oily, too salty, dumplings are sticky, glutinous, and easily fell apart.
VG7. Stir-Fried Green Bok Choy 炒湯匙菜(青江菜) - the restaurant was out, or no longer selling it, so I opted for the stir-fried bean sprouts.
VG9. Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts 炒豆牙菜 - tasted earthy, like dirt
H12. Mapo Tofu-Pork - The togo container provided by the restaurant is insufficient. The chili sauce leaked over everything by the time I got home. I can't taste the peppercorn and the sauce's consistency is a little too watery.
RN7. Singapore Rice Noodles 新加坡炒米粉 Chicken, shrimp, and beef with curry. - too wet, not oily enough, dull yellow color, weak curry taste
CK17. Chicken with Stir-Fried Asian...
Read moreWe haven’t tried Chinese food in awhile and tried this place a couple weeks ago, we’ve been back three times now. The lo mein is our go to and probably the best we’ve ever had, my boyfriend craved it so much the next day we went back and had it two days in a row. The fried rice is different than I usually like it but it’s still quite good! And I tried the egg drop soup this time and it was also so good! I love the note they put on it (no food coloring so it’s white) haha but it tasted the same and was delicious. Anyway the lady running front it is the sweetest and so polite, if she reads this we SO appreciate you! I assume this is newer ownership maybe based on previous reviews so if you haven’t had it recently definitely try it again. They were busy tonight and apologized but they didn’t need to, I’d wait an hour, it’s that good for my lo mein. I never write reviews but wanted to give them a boost. We’ve...
Read moreWorst chinese food I have ever had: so awful that it encouraged me to find a google login to be able to review it. Very disappointed, was looking forward to trying a new chinese food place. Tried to eat this food anyway, starving, couldn't, had to throw all of it away. Soggy lo mein. Mushy egg roll insides. Steamed chicken looks and tastes artificially alien. Fried rice seemed like oily steamed rice. All vegetables have a rubbery artificial texture. Hawaiian chicken's red sauce helped make it almost edible but the breading on the chicken was like wrinkly soggy skin. Sweet and sour pork was over cooked burned (did it microwave too long?). Egg drop soup was basically just water mixed with cooked eggs, very white and very runny. Wife wouldn't eat it. Kids wouldn't eat it. What a...
