Pho Bulous — Restaurant in Edmond

Update 09/24:

The service has gone downhill. Specifically the servers, male and female, didn’t know what they were doing repeatedly. The sweet and sour chicken was hot and delicious, but they don’t automatically serve the veggies with the pho anymore (cheap!) and the server didn’t ask if it was wanted either.

They constantly sprayed Fabuloso to clean tables, but what that did was fill the room with a pungent odor that literally interfered with the taste of the food and gave one of us a headache. We’ve never noticed the toxic chemical before (simple green or something else less pungent and less harmful (vinegar-water?) would be a better idea). Room temp was less cold and music lighter, which was appreciated. All said, we gave it another try, but it just wasn’t the same again, so we won’t be back. We used to love this place. We used to love eating at Phobulous because everything was perfect—hot, tasty food, friendly service, pleasant ambience (except for the dim lighting on the right side and occasional loud music), and cleanliness.

Unfortunately, the last few times we tried to eat there, the temperature was freezing (think hanging meat), so we walked out. Who wants to eat in the refrigerator? The female manager isn’t friendly and, well, Phob just doesn’t have that sincerely welcoming feeling anymore (What happened to the original friendly guys?).

Don't get me wrong, I love this place - but ever since the last month or so my buddy and I have constantly gotten incorrect orders with dining in and to go. 1: I ordered phố to dine in once and it came to me with bún noodles. 2: I recently made a to go order and clearly stated what drink I had wanted but had to repeat myself because all the waitress got was the part where I said smoothie. 3: Ordered phố to go with flank beef steak, got home, checked the box and there was chicken instead of flank beef steak (Picture posted) 4: Called as soon as I found out I got chicken instead of flank beef steak. The vibe I got from the manager was "Uh, okay. Idk what's wrong here because I did the order myself. So?" Obviously I wasn't getting anywhere with my conversation with him (probably because I was a female), because as soon as I handed the phone to the hubby, the manager's tone completely changed. I agree with all of the previous reviews. There definitely are very nice and courteous staff members there, but there definitely some very rude staff members there as well. Really like the food and beverages at this place, but my orders have been messed up so many times. Don't think I'm coming back...

Would have given 4 stars but we arrived at 8:40 and it was clear by the looks and body language of the female manager and waiter they wanted out by 9 closing. We were aware of this when we arrived and wanted to eat quickly and take the rest home. Paid our bill at 9:09 left as soon as they boxed up our remaining food. The worst part was the Female manager or owner turning off the air conditioning at 9pm to not so subtly remind us and another table of women to leave. I have worked in the restaurant industry and know that is not acceptable. Haven’t been here in years and decided to try this restaurant again. A good reminder why I haven’t been a returning customer and we won’t be back. Plenty of other good pho restaurants to choose from.
