El Cajon Pass Deli — Restaurant in El Cajon

Sorry, I was not impressed with the egg salad lettuce wrap. It was about a full head of soft wilted Iceberg lettuce with maybe a few tablespoons of egg salad, a very small amount of bacon, and some cheddar cheese. I feel there was more cheese than egg salad. After throwing away the lettuce and eating just the little bit of egg salad it was good. Wish it had had more bacon. Might be a good sandwich on bread, but it was not worth the money for a lettuce wrap. Wouldn't buy another lettuce wrap sandwich.

Update: I appreciate the owner's reply to my review. I wasn't giving his business an overall bad review, just the egg salad wrap. It was the huge amount of soft-wilted iceberg lettuce that was the major turn-off for me. Had it been fresh crisp lettuce I probably wouldn't have written a review at all. As I said above, the egg salad was good and would probably make a better sandwich than lettuce wrap. Perhaps, the scoop of egg salad on top of a nice fresh bed of lettuce would also have been a better alternative. I'm a truck driver that was delivering a load to a place around the corner from this deli. The guy I checked in with at the place I was delivering to suggested El Cajon Pass Deli to grab lunch while I waited for them to unload my truck. I got the New York Special Sandwich and I can honestly say it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I ordered it online and walked over to get it and when I got there the service I got from just picking up a sandwiche was phenomenal. The guy behind the counter was super cool and polite. Was recently told about this sandwich from a friend and thought id stop by and see what the hype was about. This place serves really good sandwich and nice portions. They have a great selection of breads and wide selection of meats. The deli uses top quality meats and for about $12 you get great sandwich. I ordered my favorite which was a hot pastrami on squaw bread. They slice it nice and then and it isnt marveled with a lot of gross fat either. The sandwich is perfect. The owner is super nice.
