My husband and I just had Marietas delivered from the Main Street restaurant. I have to say it was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I was born in San Diego many years ago and Mexican food is my favorite food- I could eat it every day. I have tried it everywhere from taco shops to high end restaurants so I know how good Mexican food should taste. First, we are less than a mile from the restaurant and the food was cold. Completely cold. Tasted like it was cooked and waiting to be served for a long time before it was delivered. The breading on the chili relleno was soggy and tasted like white bread soaked in milk. The cheese enchilada was tuff and tasteless with some weird sauce, again bland. The rice was bland, tasteless, mushy and over cooked. Beans were too salty. Then there is the taco. Who can mess up a beef taco? Well, apparently they can because for the first time in my life it was so bad I had to throw a taco in the trash. Tough shell -you couldn't even bite into let alone chew. Old cheese. Very little wilted lettuce. The weirdest tasting meat (if it was meat) ever. I couldn't even swallow the first bite. My husband had beef taco, beans and rice. Same thing. Disgusting. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. All this for a mere $50 plus tip.. I don't know how this business is still afloat even after covid. oh, wait-- I guess it's the high prices for nothing.

Read moreServes a lot of good food however the portion sizes on some of the dishes are rather disappointing for the price. For example bistequitos rancheros is 17.50 and is sirloin strips bathed in ranchera sauce, tomatoes, onions, and a couple greens accompanied with rice, cheese on beans, and tortillas on the side; it fills you up pretty damn well and the only disappointment to it is that i wish it had some more beans and rice to mix with the sauce. And then there's the camarones tequila (not gonna lie i probably botched the name) for somewhere between 12-16 and is 6 jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon and is marinated with tequila, and comes with some pretty damn good sauce dip on the side; however you finish the shrimp and then you'll just sit there thinking to yourself, "so is there a free refill or am i gonna be left to starve?" Every now and then they have some live music on the weekends which is both enjoyable while you eat and loud enough to listen to, but not enough to prevent you from having a conversation. Normally the service there is great, making sure you have everything you need, hope you're enjoying the food, and just outright being friendly. Today however (9/8/18) they had several different people come up to see how we were doing every single minute which was preventing me from enjoying the food and kinda made me want to get...
Read moreI usually do taco shops but every so often you find a place that just seems to hit the right cues that make you want to eat there and the place did not disappoint! Good happy hour on drink specials and the atmosphere is that old school type of Mexican style that doesn’t go over the top but doesn’t give you less than you need. The main guy there is Manny and his service was top notch!! Attentive and welcoming! The food was DELIVERED!! I grabbed a simple carne asada taco because this type of taco will tell you be everything you need to know about the rest of the food options! It should be a simple taco but also a tasty one as well!! THIS DAMN TACO WAS SOOO GOOD 😋 the meat was tender juice and thick. The cilantro and onion was fresh and the side chips and salsa were the perfect pairing. I ate at the bar and it made the experience even better! Oh and the rice and beans were excellent! Not dry and stale like a lot of places! This would be a nice place for a date night because people think you have to go somewhere fancy to have a good...
