Burgers & Beer — Restaurant in El Centro

I've been here twice now and can say that my experience has been terrible due to the service (actually lack there of). Food was OK, nothing special and extremely overpriced. Sautéed mushrooms were canned and bland. Burger meat was cooked perfectly but also bland. Based on the food it would be a 3 star review (because the price is really out of line) but the service has been terrible. If you are interested keep reading.

The first time I came I was promptly seated and asked what I wanted to drink. I asked for water then proceeded to wait 20 minutes before getting up and leaving. During this time several other guests were seated and provided drinks.

I chalked it up to a bad night and gave them a second chance. Not ideal but these things happen.

I asked to be seated at a table and was told I would be a 45 minute wait unless I wanted to sit at the bar. I saw there were 5 open tables throughout the restaurant but told the hostess didn't mind waiting. She tried again to sit me at the bar and I had to get firm about not wanting to sit at the bar. 5 minutes later someone else came by and Sat me down at one of the open tables, promptly got my drink and took my appetiser order then the waiting game started.

My server was quick to help out larger groups but basically ignored me. Multiple times I had to ask for refills from other servers because she was not around or worse she told me she would get it and promptly went to tend to another table forgetting about me. If I hadn't already put the order in for my appetiser I would have left. I even had to get up and flag another server to get the bill. When I went to pay my server was quick to show up though.

I explained the poor service to the hostess and was promptly given a blank stare and no answer. Just nothing, after a minute of this I just left.

I will never come back here. They charge too much to deal with...

On 2/24/2023 at 1pm Husband and I waited to be acknowledge by any of the servers there at Burgers and Beer in EC. We waited for about 15 minutes, not until we asked a waitress if she could take our order, to which she said "I'm not your waitress but I will start by taking your drink order". She did point out who our waitress was assigned to our table, which we did not have any clue that she was our waitress. This waitress never came around to our table nor passed by our table or even made eye contact to us letting us know she acknowledge us and will be with us soon. Once the new waitress took our drink order she walked over to the kitchen signaling to who was supposedly to be our original waitress to go to the kitchen with her. When our drinks came back, my drink had a piece of paper in it, mind you I was the one that removed the paper from the straw to insert to my drink when I noticed this large piece of paper in my drink. We cancelled our order and walked out. How child like and unprofessional. Burgers and Beer's owner needs to hire and train his waitresses by skill, friendliness and capability not by physical looks, as I had read before...

I came in on Wednesday around 12 noon and the place is busy and friendly. I stopped in because they carry Happy Dad seltzer! The Wednesday special is chicken sandwich fries and a drink for $12.25 great deal. Each booth has a TV with a remote and this place is great to watch the games and get some good food and drinks. Plenty of parking and the service is on point very friendly and who ever is hiring the staff is doing a great job keep up the good work come in and see for yourself. I like that they bring you the condiments on the side chilled mayo, mustard, ketchup and ranch and some looks like thousand island in a little caddy. Huge selection of drinks on the menu and beers but Happy Dad isn’t listed I had to call and ask if they carried it. The food doesn’t come out fast which is a good thing that means they are cooking it fresh and made to order in order I came at the busiest time of the day. I’m impressed the sandwich was great a lot of thick fries and it was perfect! She even offered me a to go cup for my soda!
