Been here only once and it was purely due to a fish taco craving. The menu is almost entirely seafood; I remember only seeing the steak taco and the quesadilla as the only non fish related dishes but I could be mistaken. Restaurant wasn't full when I arrived, seated immediately. Server brought out the chips and salsa appetizer right away (the seasoning on the chips is very good -I'm pretty sure it was tajin).
Ordered 5 fish tacos and 2 steak tacos plus rice and beans as a side. Never received my beans though, server said kitchen was barely making the beans. Fish tacos. Good flavor and a good portion of fish per taco. Each taco was topped with cabbage and pico de gallo. If that isn't enough topping there is a basket of hot sauces table side and they bring out the lemon wedges and cremas (regular and a spiced seasoned variety) with your food. Steak tacos. Good flavor, topped with red onions and I think I remember a little pico on it as well. My only issue with this taco is that they aren't as generous with the amount of beef they put in the taco when compared to the fish taco. Rice was a buttery white rice with corn, very good. Price was average. $27 for everything I mentioned above plus two teas.
Only issue worth noting was a server issue. My original server was very attentive. After we got our food and refills another server (who was cleaning tables) asked how we were doing. We asked that 2nd server for more food. After that the first server stopped coming around as often and the 2nd server also stopped coming around. Not a huge issue but something worth looking into resolving if it's a common occurrence. We were seated alongside the south wall, if...
Read moreThere are things that you let go but others that are unacceptable. I received the menu and I ordered a Campechana which a mix of seafood and a tomato salse and some vegetables, price $15.99. Knowing how hard is to keep customers, I was surprised with the poor and unfriendly attitude from the waitress, Gloria...wow. Every time that I need something I had to almost go to the counter, she never pay attention to her tables, not even to bring the check. Once I received the check, I notice that she never offered me a complimentary cup of soup that every table was getting. Then I noticed that the price was wrong $16.99 instead of $15.99, so I asked and she immediately said no, it's $16.99. Then another waitress or maybe the manager came and she said with a fighting tone...do you have any problem with the check? I said yes, indeed. The price on the menu was $15.99 then she pointed the menu where it says "Prices can be change". I was upset and laughing at the same time because to me that was a joke. I said why it's changing? the she said because the prices on the menu are old. This is an acceptable and literally are screwing customers. Unfortunately, 99% of the people I saw at the restaurant are working class that I'm pretty sure they don't review the check, they just pay. This is a questionable and poor type of doing business. I'm not recommend this...
Read moreHorrible service. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get our food. Our server took our order and never wrote anything down. 45 minutes after ordering our server returns and tells us that the order was accidentally deleted. So she takes our order again. 90 minutes to get a medium shrimp cocktail. Absolutely pathetic. Our server never bothered to pick up empty appetizer trays or empty drink cups. Took 30 minutes to get our appetizer. I ordered shrimp wrapped in bacon (Costa Azul) and was truly disappointed to see small shrimp wrapped in bacon versus jumbo shrimp like it is supposed to be. The rice with my dish was hard.
I had read the reviews prior to going to this restaurant and saw a lot of negative reviews, but I figured I’d give them a chance and support local business. Terrible decision and I will never return.
Two booths over I saw a friend with her husband and two children. They too were extremely disappointed. The adults got their food 30 minutes before the children. They also vowed to...
