Las Palmitas Taco Shop 2 — Restaurant in El Centro

I 1st want to state that this place has wonderful food for a good price. However the management there especially the gentleman Omar, Very disrespectful I ordered a carne asada, eggs, burrito with beans and large quesadilla. Instead of getting what I ordered I got carne asada, guacamole, and beans the only problem is I'm allergic to avocados. I found out the burrito that I got on the 2nd bite it had avocados so I took it back to Omar letting him know that I got the wrong burrito and I was allergic to avocados. That's when he told me there's nothing he could do I would have to pay for a new one or eat the 1 that I got. Then I asked for a manager that's when he told me he was the manager. Then I asked to speak to the owner that's when he said that the owner wasn't in that he'd take my name and number I gave that and I asked for the owner's name and number. As I was looking around for the health department's info to get the phone number, they didn't have it posted for the public to see. That's when I asked for the health department's number as well. That's when Omar refused to give me both the owner's number and the health department's number then proceeded to call the cops on me for asking for numbers. At the end of the day all I wanted was my order fixed or a refund but Omar wouldn't do either because he would have to pay for it. It took the cops getting there to finally get it resolved were I...

My first time trying the Weds $1.50 fish taco. I ordered 3. THE GOOD......, Very decent size fish portions! The lemon wedges were BIG and juicy The pico de gallo The price

THE BAD..... The large fish portions were cooked in oil that was to cold. Fish itself was mush, not flaky. And grease....sooooo dang greasy! There was no flavor....most tasteless fish I ever tried. I ordered flour tortillas and got corn. They were a soggy mess that were simply sponges for all that grease oooozing out of the fish. What I thought was tartar sauce ended up being very watered down mayo. There was no tartar sauce. The hot sauce was a clear orange red colored liquid. Dipped my finger in it 3 different times and zero taste or flavor or heat. The finely chopped cabbage was dried out and rubberized.

I ate 2 of them....honestly forced myself to. Already regretting doing so. The third one ended up in the garbage... I just couldn't force...

We came here in April 2024. We wanted some authentic Mexican food and we found the right place. We ordered tacos, nachos and rice. All of the food wad was incredible. The nacho chips were made fresh and to order. When dining in, they bring your food to your table which is definitely appreciated. The stand that has the chili, cilantro and lemons was clean and stocked. They really stand by their slogan "The key to authentic Mexican food is patience" (not sure if that is verbatim), which is amazing. Food made to order, good service and great tasting food. We came on taco Monday, where there is a special on tacos for $1.99 each which is a very reasonable price. Most places that have a special going on, they prepare for the special by making food advance, therefore the food is dry, overcooked and old. THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE!
