Amigo Donuts — Restaurant in El Monte

This is a small shop in the plaza next to the Cheveron station on Ramona. I actually ran over from the gas station because I've been wanting to try Amigo Donuts for a while. It is a clean store with in store seating. There were about 8 customers at the tables, some at the counter and still more coming in. That's a good sign right? I judge a store on it's cinnamon roll because for me that's the gold star of donuts. So these folks make a nice crisp cinnamon roll $1.75. The kind where the crunch is in the glaze. That's how I like it. I'm at four stars because I've not had anything else. Looks like you can get the usual in drinks and there is even a menu for sandwiches. I will come back for something...

Quality of food, sometimes, is not rated with the amount of money paid in this particular store, the service with humanity and genuine rated at priceless value. Witnessing a customer was short of money to buy food, the couple (owners) graciously offered the food to the customer whatever he could pay, the customer left the store filled with grateful and "soul food" brightened his life. This is not the physical store environment can satisfy the customer. This is a store, to many under financial stress...

I like to come here from their croissant sandwiches. They give a lot of food for a reasonable price. The lady there is nice. There is a $0.75 service charge for all debit and credit card transactions. However the lady there was nice and gave me a free chocolate donut in return of the service fee.
