I ordered from the food truck on Ft Bliss the empanadas were verry good. I also ordered the lunch special and it was honestly the very worst I ever had. The food was not fresh. The Rice was hard and tasteless the chicken was old dry unseasoned as well and had a sickening color coukd not eat it. I love Dominican food and judging from the pictures on thos goole site someone knows how too cook there not the people working on the teuck however. The woman working the window would not even acknowledge me ignored me while she was on a personal phone call. I know beacase even though I dont look like it I can speak and understand Spanish very well. Truck is unsanitary and whoever licensed these people health dept? Better take a better look someone is going to get sick here. TERRIBLE..... HORROROSO !!!!! no, lo siento, mi amigo, ella no estaba recibiendo órdenes, estaba hablando con un amigo. She was having a personal conversation with a friend. Also no one was on line but me and I was not rude at all ...I paid in cash so ws given no receipt. Read moreWe tried Antojitos Caribeños for tge first time today. I really loved my food. I had the rice special and it was rice with sautéed chicken, side salad and fried sweet plantains. My husband had 2 empanadas, beef and chicken. Everything was delicious! My plate was very generously served. The rice was so good and it was a huge portion. Tge chicken was seasoned so well. It just tasted so good. Even the side salad was great. It was lightly dressed and whatever dressing it had was perfect. My husband's empanadas were also very good. The meat was good and I loved the flaky empanada exterior. They were pretty big too. The first thing we both tried was the passion fruit juice. It was sweet, but natural and refreshing. I don't normally drink juice as drinks, but I couldn't get enough of this one that we both had to order one each to go. We will be back for sure, and soon. The owner is also very nice. I have to say, I normally do not eat anything without some kind if spicy salsa or chile, but I didn't need it at all, since the food was just so good! I normally include pictures of my food, but before I even thought about it I had almost finished my food. So.....
Read moreOrdered $110 of food knowing our family was out sick for a week and we found that 1. Portions were amazing - probably 12-14 meals! 2. Food was great! There was not one thing we didn’t like.
We had two mofongos with pork, bacalaitos, two rice specials, two empanadas, burnt rice ends (free and delicious if you ask), tostones, two pasteles en hoja, one chimi sandwich with smoked sausage.
If we had to choose, our favorites were the mofongo with pork. Whatever they season that pork with is incredible. The empanadas were so good - the crust had a great crunch, bread was seasoned perfectly, and the meat was both dry enough to not leak through, but juicy enough to just melt in your mouth. The rice specials were also outstanding - each time we had to half it because it was so filling, but the meat was cooked perfectly and the rice and beans were delicious. Special shout-out to the chimi sandwich which was seasoned really well and the smoked sausage was had a great flavor.
We can’t wait to try out the rest...
