Great food. Annoying Owner. Cash Only

I’ve been staying in the RV park across the street from this little place and the smells have been incredible. The aroma of grilled meat and onions was driving me crazy! Last night we walked over because neither of us could stand it anymore.

This place is somewhere between a dive and a dump but the food was worth it. The owner bragged that he started the place with only $100. I can assure you nothing was spent on the décor then or since. Everything is in poor condition but seems clean enough.

When we entered the owner emerged from a very dark and creepy corner of the place to wait on us. Although I didn’t ask for his opinion, he told me (not suggested) what to order. This was after 7-8 minutes of assaulting us with his political opinions and views. He actually sat down to carry on his one sided conversation. I didn’t ask for that either. Maybe I was “profiled” politically and he thought that stuff would make me happy. It didn’t. I’m here to eat dude, I don’t care. Keep your opinions to yourself. Throughout the meal he continued to brag about his food. He demanded to know where the best burger we’ve ever had was. Said his was better. Also not appreciated. I’m already here, I’m eating, I’ll make up my own mind. He was arrogant, pushy, and irritating.

The menu is small with only a few items but he makes what you like the way you want it if you can get past him telling you what to get (two of everything.) We both had burgers and fries. He also brought us out a sample of his house made green chili sauce, which was to die for. They have canned sodas and a few types of bottled beer. You walk to the other side of the diner, into that dark creepy, corner to buy your beer (cash only) from Momma.

OK i saw some of the reviews & decided to drop my 2 cents. Yes, the burgers are great. Yes, the facility and menu variety is not typical of the chain places, but honestly, you don't need a large menu when the key items are good and will bring you back. You come to these places for good food and good company. You will never get the attention you get from here at any food chain. The buns are perfect for a good juicy burger. The meat is seasoned just right, and the thick cut tomatoes wrap up the burger so well you will remember this place and want to come back every time. The rolled tacos and green sauce are great and every time I get the chorizo fries. Been meaning to try the dogs but everything I get drawn back to the dable dable burger. The owner will talk about his kick a** burger but he knows they are good and has every right to. However put your phone down and talk to the man and there is more to him than a burger joint. Every time I am in ep I make a point to stop by. Support your local small business and find out there is more to enjoy in the area for food than a cheap and fast burger from a teen that would rather be on his phone and socially awkward and does not know how to talk to a stranger.

I was looking forward to this place as a friend had recommended it. Now I think that friend might have playing a practical joke on me. I went with my wife during lunch hour. My first impression was, this place looked like someone's garage with a mild hoarding problem. I decided to look past the appearance and stay optimistic about the food. The guy sat us down and immediately started saying so many things I couldn't even understand what he was saying. Apparently he was telling us what to order. We decided to go with his suggestion of burgers, fries and there tacos. As we waited for the food this guy sat directly in front of us and talked the whole time (mostly about himself). He mentioned several times that this was the best burger we would ever taste. When the food finally came out he was staring at us as we ate. It was so uncomfortable. The food was at best average.
